  1. If they cut him now do they immediately get the salary cap savings cause perhaps they have a player(s) in mind that they want to have as much space for as possible?
  2. Kinda saw that coming, he's a cautionary tale of putting too much stock into things like pressures, pass rush win rate and other metrics if the guy doesn't have a history of actually finishing the play and getting the sacks. Cause according to those metrics he was borderline elite by those metrics before we got him and iirc even a year or two with us but as we saw he never really made a major impact on the field save for a few game stretch his first season here. Perhaps his pressures helped create sacks for Okwara which is the reason he broke out, you'd have to go back and review it but even if that's the case with the money he was being paid you'd expect him to actually get more sacks himself.
  3. If I knew with a fair certainty that nothing like this would happen again Id trade basically whatever for him, cause securing a young elite qb is worth just about anything in this league but as an outsider Im not that certain which is why I wouldn't. If I had better insight into the whole situation and him as a person I may feel different but without knowing Im not willing to mortgage the teams future for him despite how great he is on the field. Now if it "only" cost this year's 2 1sts and say a mid draft pick then sure Id be willing to take that risk but if you're talking about giving up 1sts for the next several years like I suspect it would take I just can't do that at this moment.
  4. I wouldn't, I mean I would if I knew he could be had for a ridiculously low price but if he's cleared he's likely going to make the Wilson return look like peanuts and at that price its just way too risky given his character. He may be cleared this time but who knows when the next time will come.
  5. I think the league views Wentz more favorably than Goff or at the very least they have more confidence that they can maximize his potential but with that said I wonder if Washington made any calls to the Lions for Goff and if they wouldve been willing to offer up anything close to what they gave up for Wentz? If they did I certainly would have pulled the trigger, we would still need a stop gap until our qb of the future gets drafted but in that case we could sigh somebody like Bridgewater or hell even Trubisky on a short term deal.
  6. One thing I will say though is after thinking about it if we do draft a qb it better be at 2 and not 32. Assuming somebody doesn't trade with Jax you are guaranteed to get your number 1 QB at 2 whereas at 32 you may only get your 4th or 5th guy. QB is way too important of position to settle for your 4th or 5th option. Essentially it is choosing between getting your number 1 QB and say possibly 5th ranked pass rusher at 32 or taking your number 1 pass rusher at 2 and taking your 4th or 5th ranked qb at 32. I much prefer the first outcome.
  7. Yeah barring injury or Goff playing like an absolute disaster I would assume he sits all next year which is both a plus but also can be a minus though if he doesnt pan out. Reason being is that instead of knowing immediately he isn't the guy like the Cards did with Rosen you are now tied atleast 2 years before you know with the more likely outcome being 3 or 4.
  8. I love JC Jackson but it always concerns me when the Patriots don't commit to you. Their track record is pretty damn good when it comes to things like that. They keep the good players and the guys they let go tend to not end up doing much after...Brady aside.
  9. Even though Ive been on the wait till next year to draft a qb train I wouldn't be terribly upset with Wilis at 2 cause I don't love any of the other guys. He obviously has the highest reward of any player we could draft so between that and the lack of a clear star player in the draft this wouldn't be the worst time to swing for the fences. My biggest fear though is potentially passing on a better available qb next year cause we used one on a guy this year.
  10. Whether it's fair or not Wilson is seen by NFL evaluators as a tier above Stafford or atleast how Stafford was perceived when we traded him so that's the main reason they got so much more than we did.
  11. McShay has us taking Hamilton in his latest mock. Said the 40 time doesn't bother him cause he plays faster than that and all his other measurements stood out well. Also has us taking Boye Mafe OLB from Minnesota with the 32nd pick, says his game is raw but has one of the fastest takeoffs he has seen from anybody in this class. Could be a potential steal at 32....or a potential disaster.
  12. I wonder if the Seahawks would be open to trading Metcalf and if so what would it take to get him?
  13. Alot to give up but Wilson makes Denver a legit Super Bowl threat now.
  14. I loved him talking about hand size on this same show. He showed his hands and I believe he said they measured at 10 3'4, whatever it was the other dude looked it up and confirmed that Leaf's hands were bigger than all other QBs in the league right now. Leaf then goes "Yeah and we all saw how well my big hands worked out for me." lol
  15. Yes, I mentioned above that the Dodgers have a 240 million a year local TV deal, where as the Tigers while still in the top 10 in that regard only have an 84 million dollar deal and some teams are below 50. The Dodgers can carry a 200+ million dollar payroll and know that they are going to make money before the team sells a single ticket or gets any other sorta revenue.
  16. The Dodgers get about 170 million more a year from their local TV deal than your average team. That gives them such an unfair advantage over every other team.
  17. Since January 1st when Cade started to really start playing better the Pistons are a respectable 12-14 in games he played in. If he continues that trajectory, they add a good player in the draft and add a piece or 2 in the offseason and this could be a playoff team next year.
  18. Pistons hang on for yet another win 113-110. Yeah it may not be ideal for their draft status but I am enjoying these wins.
  19. Cade taking over in OT, 7pts and 1 assist in 3 minutes thus far.
  20. I thought the foul on the Hawks against Cade was a little light considering the circumstance but the foul on Bagley was definitely the right call.
  21. Atlanta makes 1 of 2 FTs and we are going to overtime.
  22. lol and now a foul on the Pistons on the inbound. Can't say I ever remember seeing back to back fouls on inbound plays with 1.6 seconds left.
  23. Whoa shocked they called that foul there but I'll take it. Cade makes 2 clutch FTs to give the Pistons a 1pt lead with 1.6 remaining.
