  1. Luis Arraez of the Padres had his first strikeout in over 5 weeks yesterday. Longest such streak since Gwynn in the 90s. Given how things are strikeout wise in today's game this is one of the more impressive things Ive heard this season.
  2. Not liking the pitching matchups for this one, maybe we'll get lucky and get to Ragans.
  3. I have no idea what Goff was doing there unless he was just trying to throw it away in the back of the end zone and getting hit caused the under throw. Just a disastrous game for him.
  4. People are quick to blame the secondary but I think most of the damage has been done due to our linebackers. Campbell has looked completely lost in coverage, Rodriguez has missed tackles and I don't think I've heard Anzalone's name called once.
  5. Just run the ball every time here, don't try to get cute.
  6. Not sure why JOhnston is blaming Gibbs for that instead of the fullback for not picking up the blitz. What else was Gibbs supposed to do?
  7. I do gotta agree that I haven't been a fan of the playcalling today inside the red zone. I felt earlier when they were inside the 10 after Montgomery just gained 6 or 7 yards they should've went back to him, instead they went with low percentage passes. Then here they get some momentum and they throw it out wide to Kalif Raymond on 1st down that had a low reward payoff.
  8. The first Campbell timeout was the most perplexing to me, it was just so unusual for him to use it after we picked up a 1st down in TB territory with over a minute left. There was obviously plenty of time left to score. Originally I thought maybe it was to give a player a breather or something but that didn't appear to be the case.
  9. Definitely fault Campbell for the TO sequences but the ST players running on the field is entirely on the ST coach, it is his responsibility to direct those guys, he let them run on the field when clearly the Lions were running up to spike the ball. Dan can't coach the game, direct the offense and keep tabs on the 11 special team players all at the same time. That is literally that coaches job and he screwed up.
  10. This is why you(and Campbell usually does) save that timeout at the end. Still though if not for terrible Special teams coaching they would've gotten atleast a FG attempt out of it. That ST coach is going to get an earful from Dan.
  11. Yeah weird usage of timeouts here especially for Campbell, normally he doesn't blow through them like this particularly the first 2.
  12. Brian Branch is a freaking stud! Had 3 pass break ups last week, already has 1 this week and now gets a big pick.
  13. I always hated Mayfield and I obviously want him to struggle the rest of the way this game but I will say it's nice to see in general much like Goff a previous hyped young QB bounce back after being written off by everybody after a rough season or 2.
  14. Goff is definitely off today but either TB is just covering that part of the field well, guys aren't getting open or Johnson just isn't calling up the plays but Goff is at his best throwing up the middle in between the numbers and there haven't been many of those throws thus far. Seems like most are out routes to the sideline and that isn't his strength anyway even on good days.
  15. Looked like a total miscommunication there, Campbell looked completely lost. BTW my TV must be lagging cause I went to ESPN.com to check the other scores and it already changed the Bucs score before I saw it on TV.
  16. LaPorta has been awfully quiet thus far this season, I hope it has nothing to do with the injury he suffered at the end of last season.
  17. Wish they would've just ran Montgomery again on 3rd down and potentially 4th down if he got it down by the 1.
  18. Extremely tick tack, I guess when you're a rookie you don't get the benefit of the doubt.
  19. Not good, picked a bad time for the bats to go silent too. Now up to 14 innings without a run.
  20. With the extra Wild Card team now which brings so many teams into play it's hard to think of many teams that have no realistic shot at the playoffs when the season begins which is where you would have to be to probably take a guy like Workman knowing he would have to be on your big league roster. Long way of saying that I would feel pretty confident that he wouldnt get drafted if left unprotected. The only way I could see it is if a team like Oakland who is good at finding these flawed players that have upside sees something in his K rate that they feel can fix or atleast drastically improve upon and takes a flyer on him.
  21. I saw pictures on Twitter that appeared to look like he was part of some ceremony, had a framed jersey of him and some trophy beside it that I couldn't make out. Maybe it was Latin American Night or something and he was being honored?
  22. I remember John Means of the Orioles throwing one either just before or after Turnbull only because there was a debate on twitter about who was a better bet going forward in real life and in fantasy baseball. Naturally I chimed in with the homer answer of Turnbull and within a week or so he was on the shelf.
  23. 14 games left in the season and the Tigers are still mathematically alive for the number 1 seed, wild times indeed!
  24. Yeah I was 5 in 87 and I have no recollection of that race for the Tigers... unfortunately.
