  1. Still baffling to me how a guy who managed as late as 2014 doesn't know or understand the concept of FIP. I'm sure even Leyland knew about that stat by 2010.
  2. I can't believe Gibson doesn't understand what FIP is in 2024.
  3. Neto ole's the previous play then follows it up with a play Omar Vizquel would be proud of.
  4. Shut up Benetti!! Don't jinx us!
  5. I'll never forget my friend asked me to go to that game cause he had an extra ticket. I declined cause I had a long day of work that day and had to get up at 6 the next morning to go in early again. Took a nap after getting off work that day and woke up to turn on the game in the 7th inning only to see that he had a no hitter going. Immediately regretted not going.
  6. Same age as me, after Bonderman he was the 2nd Tiger that was younger than me.
  7. Hurter gives up 3 barrels, a walk, balk and a swinging bunt for a hit but escapes with only 1 run of damage.
  8. Ballys sports is still saying 9:25 start.
  9. Still thunder rumbling here in RO at Main and 696.
  10. Multiple sources on twitter confirm the Patrick signing.
  11. I believe they hit the west coast after this homestand. I know my brother who lives in San Diego was talking about how he was getting tickets for when they play there.
  12. The Sox downfall the past few seasons is extraordinary. I remember a couple years ago I along with many other people thought they were one of if not the best young and up and coming teams with guys like Moncada, Robert, Eloy, Vaughn, Giolito, Cease, Kopech among others. Just another example that growth from young players isn't guaranteed and sometimes they actually regress.
  13. Judge with 2 more HRs today giving him 51 on the year. On pace for 64HRs and 11.5 WAR. The latter has only been eclipsed by position players 5 times in the last 100 years. Bonds in 2001 and 02, Yaz in 67, Hornsby and Ruth in 27. Legit all time great type of season we are witnessing.
  14. Hank from Breaking Bad... "Who do you think WS is? Will Smith? William Shaetner? William Shakespeare?"
  15. Tigers now have a plus run differential on the season.
  16. Had to be Chas!
  17. I remember a time Alex Rodriguez was known as a playoff choker and "not clutch" yet he carried the Yankees to the World Series title in 2009. Same with Bonds, people said he couldn't perform in the playoffs but then he went and hit 8HRs in 17 games and posted a 1.700 OPS in the 2002 playoffs taking the Giants to 1 game of the World Series.

  19. I'm ignorant to these kinda things but hypothetically if the Lions decide to just carry 2 QBs and it's Sudfeld or Fromm does that put Hooker on waivers or is there a way to stash him on the practice squad?
  20. Not an ideal start to this game.
  21. Loving the new home unis!
  22. Another guy in the modern era who I don't think gets enough credit is Mike Tomlin. To go almost 20 years straight without a losing season is unheard in today's game especially when almost half of those were with either an aging Roethlisberger or a scrub QB. Only has 1 ring and a so so playoff record but when he did have the luxury of having a plus QB in Ben he was playing in the same conference as true top tier all time great QBs in Manning, Brady and at the tail end Mahomes. Never once did he have a season where he was coaching one of the top 3 QBs in football which is a luxury most coaches with multiple rings and great playoff resumes can say they had.
