  1. Sure, in theory they could do whatever they want in a subjective system. What they really want is to rank the best 4 teams in the playoff based on merit. Any other suggestion on the committee motivation is cf fan tin foil hat stuff. Remember, these aren’t TV execs or corporate heads on the committee. These are AD’s of the schools that all hope to be vying for these spots. They don’t want to create a rigged system that could potentially come back to bite their own school later.
  2. This isn’t what happened last year. Bama crushed the strong #1 Georgia and put up 41 on their vaunted defense. The committee then saw Bama as the legit #1 team. That was their reason. They don’t care about rematches. They got the Bama/Georgia rematch the very next week anyway. CF fans will always have their conspiracy theories but that was a football decision.
  3. I don’t think they would do that. The purpose of the committee is to rank the teams based on their merit. They won’t go against that just for potential tv ratings.
  4. The VAR on the Weah no goal. So close. Full head, leg, and shoulder must be behind the line.
  5. Lol. I’m saying how it’s going to happen and not what I think or want. These games still count. There are no freebies.
  6. We may think this as fans but I don’t think the team makes decisions on the assumption that a player will get injured. If anything, this team has shown just the opposite by drafting inured players and assuming they return to full health.
  7. l agree if they let Jamaal get to the open market then he may be too expensive. I think they could try to extend him on a 3 year deal that’s really 2 years at a small bump for him and good for the team. I think he would take it if they showed him love and a fair contract before FA starts. Swift is under contract for another year. They are going to give him another shot to stay healthy, learn how to hit a hole, and become the guy they actually believed could get 2000 AP yards. I don’t see a need to draft his replacement until after next year.
  8. The boys made it out of group! Congrats and I’m glad they proved me wrong. This young midfield is sensational and that’s with Mckennie not nearly at 100% health. It’s going to fun to watch these kids grow up the next decade. Defense was also very stout. I loved that Berhalter benched Zimmerman. Great move. They were able to generate a little more offense today but the lack of quality chances overall is frustrating. It’s a nice matchup against a rebuilding Netherlands team. This Gakpo kid is on fire and they will have to stay with him. I like their chances on Saturday.
  9. Is everyone assuming they are letting Jamal Williams walk? That was my thought to start the year but I think they try to keep him now. Swift is still under control and Jackson or Reynolds are both fine options as 3rd back. I don’t see a need to pick an early RB in this draft unless they part ways with Jamal.
  10. USC is 100% out with a loss on Friday. There is no scenario for them to make the playoff with 2 losses to Utah.
  11. Michigan is already locked in.
  12. There can’t be any other way. The only thing, and this is so far outside the box that it won’t happen, is if the committee decides to negate much of the damage of the UM loss on the Bucks being without injured JSN and Henderson and also assuming they would both be able to return for the playoff.
  13. Not sure what to think today. USA has gotten better each time out and hopefully a natural progression will continue and they will dominate the midfield and finally finish crosses. Let’s also hope today’s Zimmermoment doesn’t end up in the back of the goal. On the other hand, Iran has looked good in the 2nd half of both games. They play hard. If they lose this may be the last time we may see some of their players and I’m not just talking on a soccer field. US 2 Iran (proudly pronounced I-Ran) 1
  14. We knew it had to happen. He was lucky to have been brought back this season and the team still made treacherous mistakes. Their cars were much faster than Mercedes and 2nd place never should have come down to the last race. This bodes well for Ferarri going forward.
  15. Nice weekend! I was so close last night to a +5000 parlay. Kenneth Gainwell/Christian Watson/Devonta Smith anytime TD. All the Eagles playmakers got a tuddy except Smith. So much for turning $5 into $250. Lost an 8 team +1609 parlay on that OT game in Seattle. Mainly moneyline favorites but still hard to hit an 8 teamer.
  16. I’m not loving of any of these QB’s at the top. I like Stroud better than Levis and Young but would probably pass on all 3. Anderson or Carter for the defense would be great with the Rams pick. Maybe even trade back to between 7-10 with a team wanting a QB and take CB Ringo with that pick. Definitely see them taking a corner somewhere in the first. The challenge with all of this is they will need a QB soon. Goff can hold it for a year more but they need a future QB and I don’t know where that comes from. I don’t see us picking this high again and so maybe it might be the best to take one here. As much as I am not excited by these guys, I am reminded at how much I liked Sam Darnold and hated Justin Herbert.
  17. Marv and Agnew scored big 4th quarter TDs in their week last week against Baltimore.
  18. Think this may be a good spot for one of the UM assistants. Mike Hart, Jay Harbaugh, or Sherrone Moore?
  19. Their numbers are way off. Here are the real chances to make the playoff: 1) Georgia - 100% 2) Michigan - 100% 3) TCU - 100% 4) USC - 62.1% (current percent odds they beat Utah) 5) Ohio St. - 37.9%
  20. By the 2028 election cycle, he will be out of coaching and into politics as the new face of the Michigan GOP.
  21. When I said they were making up ground with Moore that meant digging deeper into the Mat Ishbia money bag.
  22. Bengals WR Coach and Stanford legend Troy Walters would fit the bill better than Sherman. Although I am in favor of appointing a consortium from the business and engineering schools to run the program.
  23. Oregon OC Kenny Dillingham is taking the job at ASU. The top player in the state, Detroit King QB Donte Moore, has been a longtime Duck commit. There had been rumblings recently that MSU was making up ground in turning him. This will be interesting to watch as State desperately needs him.
  24. The lack of ice hurt them badly today.
  25. He will have his choice of TV gigs if he wants as well.
