Unless it’s a no brainer at 1-2 between either La Chèvre or Scoot, I have no confidence in Troy Quinn to make the correct choice

Im not sure that coaching has mattered less right now than at any point in NBA history.

It’s become a positionless league where nobody plays defense. Are there really skill sets anymore? It’s can you score and if you are really good you can create your own shot and score.

Swift takes too much heat from Lions fans for a guy that is our best RB drafted since Barry in 1989 and arguably 2nd best 2nd rounder since Jason Hanson in 1992.

I think he’s a #2 but there are many of those guys and they aren’t really that valuable to teams that don’t have enough #1

There are only 3 types of players in the NBA now: 1) Stars 2) Someone that can hit a 3 from the Wing 3) Fodder to trade and create cap space or draft picks to acquire #1 #1 is the only that is in short supply

The only thing that makes sense is Weaver is offering tribute to KarWilt, The Ancient God of Big Men, as a way to foster good will ahead of the coming arrival of the One True Messiah of Bigs this summer.

7 years ago sure. Now any play that relies on a RB to make a solo block is a bad play design. The game moves so quick now. There’s a reason the ball needs to comes out in under 3 seconds on most plays.
-
I never said it wasn’t a useful skill. It definitely is. It’s become more of a plus than a must have to stay on the field. Remember too the rules have changed and RB’s aren’t able to block low and cut guys on a blitz in the backfield. It makes it almost impossible for some of the smaller guys to take someone on 1v1.
-
They did. Don’t think it’s as important now since defensive guys are so much more athletic. Can’t expect a back to do more than slow a guy for a second to buy time for the QB to get the ball out quick to a blitz option or maybe help on a double team block. It’s a bad play if you rely on the RB to actually make a good block by himself.

Is Troy Weaver the new Bob Quinn?

I was just thinking this team really needs another project big man.

Pass blocking shouldn’t even be a qualifier anymore for RB’s. It’s a thing of the past. If an OC creates a play that relies on a RB to do anything more than a basic chip then it was either the flawed in design or the QB held the ball too long. Either way not the RB’s fault.
-
He doesn’t pass block. You added that in as a qualifier.
-
He had a very good Senior Bowl and is trending up. He’s in the discussion for 2nd or 3rd back taken so I don’t think he lasts that late unless there are issues outside the lines.
-
If you are going to use pass blocking as a key component in rating these RB’s then make sure to cross Gibbs, Charbonnet, Corum, Achane, and pretty much every other skill back off your list too.

DMB is a very different band than a Depeche Mode or RHCP. They are a touring jam band that makes their money on the road every year with an established fan base. They took the cash a few years back and signed a record deal so they have to put out a studio album every now and then but the studio doesn’t really doesn’t suit their style. Also, more than half the songs on the new album have been in the live rotation for the last few years including Madman’s Eyes. YouTube it and you can see if the live version hits any different for you. There’s one song on there they’ve been playing for 25 years but never made it on a studio album. Of course with any discussion of Dave Matthews, it must be pointed out that he doesn’t sing “like that” anymore. It’s been a long time since he sang with the weird cadence and odd sounds like he did when then first hit the scene in the 90’s.

What a terrible first move. This is such an incredible lack of reading the room. They are coming off a huge harassment scandal and they put someone found guilty of harassment in charge. Don’t even get me started Isiah’s amazing track record of failure in every possible venture since retiring as a player.
