  3. i agree about grant. in a way, it should mean more of cade and killian getting shots. in reality, it probably means more bey isos and cojo hero ball.
  4. 1) california wont do that. its click bait politics. 2) the supreme court was asked the question of whether the abortion providers' lawsuit for injunctive relief could proceed against a slate of government defendants. remember, the law is constructed in a way to avoid such a request for injunctive relief to proceed by making private citizens rather than government officials as the "enforcers" of the law. the theory being the abortion providers would have no standing to sue until someone had attempted to enforce the law. ultimately, the supreme court held that the suit for injunctive relief could proceed against certain defendants but not all defendants. so the abortion providers "won". the court ruled narrowly on the narrow question that was presented to it by a vote of 8-1. only thomas - who is not a fan of any injunctive relief petitions in general - dissented from that part of the ruling. there were two concurring/dissenting opinions. one from roberts and one from sotomayor. both would have allowed the injunctive relief suit to proceed against all of the defendants and thrown out the law. roberts' was a short opinion on how the supreme court is the ultimate arbiter of the constitutionality of the law and that this texas law was a bunch of legal shenanigans designed to avoid judicial review and the court shouldnt allow that to happen. sotomayor was about how the court should have overturned the law because its obviously unconstitutional. i think the concurrence/dissent is ultimately right and they should have overturned the law. i think the actual effect of the decision will be to send it back to the 5th circuit and they will decide on the injunction, so it would ultimately be ruled unconstitutional anyway. this was just a matter of standing. that said, the real action on abortion is the dodds decision. it will be interesting to see if roberts can craft a narrow decision that preserves some of casey. the oral argument didnt go particularly well for the pro abortion side and most people seem to think they will overturn it in some manner. i think roberts would like to keep parts of it (probably the right to "privacy" portion) but get rid of the viability portion. im not sure he has the votes to do that.
  5. sheesh pistons, just when it cant get any worse.
  6. Apparently the lions may not have enough healthy players to play this game..
  7. what did people think biden was going to be? he's been fine. made the important call on afghanistan. inflation isnt his fault and they're trying - finally - to do something about infrastructure. he has to craft legislation that can get passed by sinema and manchin in the senate while trying to make the left wing of the democratic house happy. that's a tall order. and heck, the economy is doing well right now all things considered. they've got another year to get anything done before they get waxed in the midterms.
  8. more concerning to dabo is the allowance of nfi money. now clemson cant ridiculously cheat and pay more than everyone else, which is how dabo got his recruiting advantages.
  9. charging them is ridiculous.
  10. when we talk about making the playoffs, this will be what happens. a four or five game series where we get obliterated.
  11. i swear to god zadina couldnt score in a whorehouse with a $100 bill tied to his face.
  12. sounds like ucla might be coming open soon...
  13. chas lives in illinois, i was just saying his state hasnt "unilaterally disarmed."
  14. up to 3 years in prison for each count.
  15. not in illinois!
  16. what do you think of trudeau?
  17. its such a silly thing. if he had just owned up to it at ANY point instead of being completely cocky and insisting that he was being wronged by the state it would have gone away. but once the prosecutor let him off with nothing after the obama people lobbied her to do so, he came out and was still cocky about it. he really made the prosecutor's life difficult. that's when everyone turned on her and insisted there be a trial. of course, the prosecutor could have just not given him special treatment and it would have ended right there too. he'll get probation or something. maybe a little jail time but i wouldnt expect anything serious. unless they want to martha stewart him and make an example out of him.
  18. apparently he's not done... ... ... with dinner.
  19. someone tell dc313.
  20. Jussie found guilty on 5 of 6 counts. lol. what a joke this whole thing was. how obvious was it that this idiot was lying?
  21. it most certainly is true about loans. they have guaranteed money from the government. to a certain degree, michigan will charge in tuition what they can get. on the one hand, the avilability of loans means more kids can afford school, otoh it drives up the price because schools know that money is there. what's the solution? i dont know. you could ask schools not to be so greedy, or for them to trim their ridiculous bureaucracy, but we all know that's not going to happen.
  22. its not that they like him that's important, its that they havent quit on him. we'll see if they quit now that theyve won one game and got the monkey off their back.
  23. And now the lawsuits begin! Fieger filing a "$100 millon" lawsuit against the school district and its employees.
