  1. The right hates kids, which is well known. It's why they elected a child pervert as President and why their right-wing pedo pastors continuously get caught doing things with underage kids.
  2. So much for Republicans being the party of the Constitution. Seems Trump is wiping his ass with our Constitution.
  3. Does your opinion stay the same if Baker shreds our secondary this week?
  4. Nothing to see here, just a Republican Congressman with a swastika over an American flag on his congressional office wall. Don't YOU have a swastika on your wall at home?
  5. I never, ever doubted Rasmussen. What a stud. Might be the next Gretzky.
  6. That SHOULD be game, set, match with that goal.
  7. It bounced right off him. Couldn't get to it puck to bury it home.
  8. They wear you down little by little until they get to the third period and break you and score a goal or two. We've done a good job holding up so far even though they have more hits on us by far.
  9. Two really good scoring chances there. We need an insurance goal because I don't see Florida being held to one goal.
  10. The call came from upstairs. We all know it, everyone watching that game knows it, both organizations know it. Everyone but the league is willing to admit that the illegal motion call came from upstairs. The league needs to admit to it.
  11. Sorry about that one everybody.
  12. Well fudge. I still don't take back what I just said above.
  13. The sample size is quite small, but Talbot has looked really good really on. No soft goals let in, he's seeing the puck well, and getting himself in the right position to make the necessary stops.
  14. I broke out the #18 for tonight's game. First game of the season.
  15. Solid period of play. I thought they created a few nice scoring chances but couldn't quite punch it in.
  16. If I lived in Virginia I wouldn't vote for Jay Jones personally. I'd avoid voting straight ticket Democrat as I would leave the AG's spot on my ballot blank or vote for an independent or Green Party candidate for that one. I also think he should have been dropped by the Virginia State Democratic Party from their list of endorsed candidates. It's too late to replace him on the ballot legally I'm guessing, but the party could have unendorsed him. I find threatening to kill someone or threatening bodily harm against a person disqualifying for an individual who intends to be the state's "top cop" or "top attorney" so to speak.
  17. So you believe what was said in those text messages is acceptable?
  18. Long before Sunday nights officiating debacle and the Lions getting a TD called back and 6 points taken off the board, the NFL has had a problem with its rules and officiating. From convoluted rules that make no sense to anyone on Planet Earth to rules that aren't correctly enforced to referees using poor judgement, the NFL has had a problem with the consistency of its rulebook and with the referees on the field meant to judge enforce those rules and call the game. Far too often, our Detroit Lions have been the victim of NFL officiating, convoluted rules, and bad calls being made by the officiating crew. Sunday night's call of illegal motion against Jared Goff occurred a full 1:07 after the TD signaled on the field and after the officials had already huddled once, determined there was no penalty, and then spotted the ball for the PAT. Only after they were buzzed down from upstairs/New York, which to my knowledge I didn't think an illegal motion call could be reviewed from upstairs or called in from New York, was a flag thrown. This officiating blunder and errant rule enforcement was one in along line of bad judgement by the referees, questionable calls, and enforcement of rules you have never heard of before that specifically went against our Lions. So with that, I wanted to make a thread about the NFL rulebook and NFL officiating. I am hoping to kickstart more conversation about the rules, the officiating, what needs to change, how things need to be reformed, etc. I'm going to start. I think the NFL needs a ref clock, much like a play clock the players have to abide by. The referees need to have a certain amount of time to make a call and throw a flag if they miss it in real time. The refs have 30 seconds, from the time the play was blown dead, to make a decision to throw a flag. For there to be over a full minute of time gone by before they decided to throw the flag is absolutely ridiculous and should not have happened.
  19. Now we know why the league called it back. This is a huge conflict of interest for the league with them partnering with these sportsbooks. I've never been one for conspiracy theories, but damn.
  20. That's what I couldn't stand about Martha, Caldwell, WCF, and this organization as a whole before. They would constantly get jobbed and boned by the league and do nothing about it. The batted ball in Seattle, the picked up flag in Dallas, the process of the catch with Calin in Chicago, the 10 second runoff against Atlanta. The coaches, Caldwell in particular, never blew up after those incidents. There was also no indication that the front office or ownership ever went to the league and demanded an explanation, answer, or read the league office the riot act. They just took it and limped along. I think Sheila and Rod need to be demanding answers from Goodell and Ramon George the head of NFL officiating. They need to explain to the Lions organization how and why the call was made the way it was. It need be backed up with evidence to, as much as humanly possible.
  21. Has anyone here been watching Alien Earth on FX? I have and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. I am hoping for a Ripley cameo or appearance at some point, but that doesn't seem likely from what I've read about the series production and what I've watched so far.
  22. Many MAGA Republicans (not all are anti-vaxxers) believe that the choice is between small pox or some disease and a child being autistic. Vaccines do not cause autism as the science has proven and reasonable people understand. But now that we have an anti-science and anti-vax HHS Secretary in RFK Jr., that fact is being made less clear and disinformation is being brought to the forefront. First, we were told that it was thimerosal in vaccines that caused autism by RFK Jr. And out of an abundance of caution, thimerosal was taken out of most childhood vaccines. Autism rates still didn't decline after that occurred because it was likely never the cause. Now, we're told it's Tylenol that causes autism. The damage is done though and it's only getting worse with an anti-vaxxer like RFK Jr. running HHS.
  23. Excellent! The offseason when they had signed Carlton Davis, I was onboard with signing Fuller. He had a better, more productive year than Davis did. Unfortunately, he ended up in the abyss that is the Miami Dolphins franchise and his career went south like a lot of guys do playing for Stephen Ross' franchise. Is Fuller the same player he was? Clearly not. Is he an upgrade over bringing a guy like Vildor back for the 300th time or your average practice squad guy? I think so.
