  1. So they got $354M in donated media, and doled out $351M in donated media? I think I know the answer... but what is donated media? I guess I see that as a wash.
  2. I liked the immediate few months after it started when we didn't have to go anywhere, then it got warm so we could go somewhere as long as it was outside.
  3. I heard JD said he wants a national abortion ban because otherwise George Soros would send "black women" to California for abortions.
  4. Blackrock used a bunch of high school kids as background for a commercial. There was no "relationship". And the shooter didn't waltz in anywhere.... he was outside of the security perimeter. He didn't have to go through any security or metal detectors at that point.
  5. I never bothered with indiviual stocks other than a "token" investment in a company I might be working for. The reason is I figure by the time I am aware of some information that would help.... the insiders and experts have already figured it out and I missed the opportunity.
  6. My memory is they were at a hotel or in a suite and were not shown until the official nomination then they would come out with their families and wave or have shots of them in their suite or hotel.
  7. I’m watching X-Men Days of future past. We decided to dive into these movies about 10 days ago. Very entertaining
  8. That can all be washed away with a strong convention that’s unifying. And it will be. There can’t be floor fights. Biden will get a rousing ovation as he passes the baton. Then the age and congnitive issues shift to Trump and the media will ignore it.
  9. For the first time I’m starting to believe it’s more likely he’s not going to be the nominee.
  10. I think it would be cool and it makes sense and helps, I think, the smaller teams. But I also think that it would become something that quickly dies down. Meaning.... the nature of these picks is so random and even the top picks are not yet impact players that teams may not be so willing to make deals after awhile.
  11. By the time the space shuttle development came about in the 70's NASA didn't have unlimited funding like they pretty much did on Mercury/Gemini/Apollo. So much of the work on those programs involved building things just to support the work... like in the case of the SRB's they would have just built a transportation system that would have fit their preferred requirements. And Thoikol's SRB's are what led to Challenger. NASA and senior managers didn't listen to the engineers. This is a great story.
  12. that's how I felt about the 70's sports guy. I unfollowed as it was just recycled tweets and constant use of buzzwords like 'goddamn' and 'heater'. Just stopped being funny to me. It was a good concept but gets stale.
  13. Regarding uniforms... there was controversy in the 60s with regards to the stirrup. In particular the Latin and Black players began cutting their socks to show more of the stirrup that they would wear over their sanitary socks. The old timers and traditionalists at the time didn't like that. Jim Bouton talked about this in Ball Four. Eventually most players in the 70s and 80s displayed the long narrow stirrup. The ironic part of course is fast forward 30-40 years and once again the traditionalists are complaining about them NOT wearing the uniform the way that the "flashy" players in the 60's started doing it.
  14. I was at that game too.
  15. You are not. And I feel the same way at Tiger games for other things.
  16. I like these uniforms. Especially the AL. I never felt a need to buy one but that are cool.
  17. But in this situation we are talking about multi jurisdictions of responsibility between the feds and state and locals. I refuse to believe this happened because someone in the secret service “forgot” or “didn’t think about it”. Did some locals drop the ball? Wouldn’t surprise me especially given the aforementioned reference to the non DEI folks in Ulvade TX. Someone thought someone else was taking care of it. I will wait for the investigation before playing the “what they should have done” game.
  18. We have gone 43 years without a shooting at a protected and suddenly they don’t know what they are doing?
  19. Those don’t tell me anything. We don’t know their policies and procedures. Lots of armchair QB going on with the replies in that post. We don’t know what the lady crouching downs job was in that situation.
  20. The only way they trade Skubal is if it’s the kind of deal where the pundits say “what were they thinking?” And ”they” refers to the other team.
  21. Has it ever happened before where the WS winning team hosted the ASG the next year?
  22. The normalization of this man and his family by our national media has been the most disappointing thing in a long time. They ****ing attempted a coup and are horrible people and they just go about pretending like nothing happened. They got their corporate orders handed down.
