Should I merge this and the off season thread ?

I don’t want any more Jordan Zimmermans or Javier Baez contracts. What’s the success rate on FA signings? 5-1 against? Low risk guys on 1-2 year deals are fine to look for lightning but nothing that drags you down. Who is out there to sign this winter?

Not a bad plan. Don't spend just to spend. As for predictions. Obviously there's no relation other than a belief in Karma but the Lions are doing very well so far and have a lot of upside and people are stoked. The Red Wings and Tigers are in somewhat similar growth areas. Playoffs is attainable but nobody's saying it's a concrete goal. Is it too much for Detroit Sports fans to ask for 3 teams to finally arrive? It's happened before in this city.

I haven't been paying attention to stuff much this weekend, I went to all 3 Tiger games, but this one confuses me. He wanted to delay a vote on something he voted for? If he wasn't signed to that contract by the Tigers 2 years before FA would he have reached 3000 hits or 500 HR? Would a team have extended him this far into his career given how he played the last 3-4 years? The other members of that group have a lot more HR and quite few more hits. In fact, if you extend it to 700 HR, 3000 hits, 600 doubles, and .300 average suddenly Miggy is left out but the others are still in the club. He's part of the club but barely and the others are far ahead of him. Those are convenient groupings but I don't think any less of Barry Bonds who ONLY got 2935 hits and therefore can't be included in that group. He also had twice as many walks as Cabrera.

I don’t know what there is to fix. If they make the wall shorter then you’d have to do massive structural changes to the seating area in RF. Behind that wall is a concrete barrier and that’s the base of the steps and seating base.

The only reason I point that out is I felt like they could win every game. They were not outmatched and had the players. Not a good team but not a bad one either. It wouldn't take much of a change for htem to lose a game... or win one.
