The news stories make it sound like Kane is on a trial or game to game basis so I wonder if preparation is part of his issues?  And it could just simply be cost.  He could be cheaper than the other guys and at this point quality has to suffer if the money can work.  Is anybdy cancelling or not watching b/c of it?

I thought Kane came across pretty shaky his first season here, not to mention the fact he was having to fill the shoes of the great Shannon Hogan but after a bit of time and getting used to him I grown to really like him.  

I found him to be a bright spot during those dark Shep, Morris and terrible Tigers teams days.

Keats, Trevor and Mickey all being gone from the broadcast hurts.  Feels like there’s less ‘pals’ to watch the game with now.

Johnny Kane has lost some weight, and it doesn't look like it's in the "he's been eating better" type. I hope he's okay and there's no big reason why he's part time now.

The two issue that might prevent this though are: 1.) Not having an easy, non-online method for viewing.  I don't know what the average age of baseball fan is, but if the only way to watch games is online you might be alienating some significant percentage of the audience. 2.) I was really won over to watching baseball during those long endless summer days when when you could flip on WGN and catch a Cubs game.

The 1980's days of SuperStations on cable. Those are long gone. I would enjoy Cubs (WGN), Mets (WOR), Braves (WSB??, Ted Turners Super Station, pre-CNN)

Now everything seems to hinge on streaming, cable is hanging on but mostly to provide internet service for the most part IMO. Especially when you factor in internet packages vs cable/internet and the various streaming services.

Fortunately my cell phone provider T-Mobile) has been offering free MLB TV the past couple of years. You have to sign up at the beginning of the season for the promotion.

I noticed one of our local sports anchors has been missing. Looked him up and it appears he's gone to fan duel Detroit to do pre/post game and on-field stuff for Tigers and Red Wings. Logan Reever.

In terms of the “blackout” rules, I’m fortunate to live in the Northwest and the only games on mlb.tv that are blacked out for me is when the Tigers play the Mariners. That’s something I can live with. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with what the rest of you in the Detroit viewing area have to endure.

Several years ago when one of the two IP addresses associated with me was mistakenly assigned to Bartlesville Oklahoma, instead of Boise, Idaho (a not uncommon error a highly skilled tech person for my Internet provider explained) I was blacked out for Astros games, Rangers games, Braves games, and I think Cardinals games all of them somehow within my alleged “viewing area”of the God forsaken no man’s land of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. This makes MLB.TV almost entirely useless for some fans.

To their credit when I explained this to MLB TV they made sure I had no blackouts for that remaining year so I could even watch the Tigers play the Mariners that season.
