Yes, you are right.  I read the article too quickly.

He does seem to hire masculine looking tough guy types who will make him look good and appeal to his base.  He has also been surrounded by Chris Christie, Elon Musk and Stephen Miller.

Elon has more money than Trump, and Trump always looks up to those people. Stephen Miller is the hardcore loyalist who will never waver following through on Trump's worst instincts, and then some. Within an army of sycophants working for Trump, Miller is the cut above that Trump values. I don't believe Christie ever worked for Trump's administration?

Christie was involved in Trump’s campaign and on the short list for VP. The bridgegate scandal tanked his approval rating and Trump cut him loose.

This was the one I was looking for and couldn’t easily find yesterday:

LOL - it's the same shirt in both pics! Guess that puts to lie the old saw that "the clothes make the man"!

I don't know what Christie's job was, but I'll never forget the hostage video:

Good for the NRA for coming out with this

Don’t they have to? Because if any group is banned from owning guns just because of who they are instead of what they’ve done, that’s the first step in the slippery slope.

But this regime doesn’t care about the Constitution. Eventually they will want to track who votes for whom and anyone who votes wrong will have multiple rights stripped in a discretionary manner, a la Germany 1933. I’m pretty sure that’s their vision, anyway.

I don't like Charlie Kirk, nor his viewpoints on issues. I disagree with him on just about every viewpoint he's taken, including his stated views on gun ownership and gun rights in the wake of mass shootings. All that being said, violence against other human beings is morally repugnant, deeply troubling, and wrong in every way. Political violence and targeting people for their political viewpoints is even worse as it attempts to intimidate and silence people simply for who they are and holding the opinions they do.

The rise in political violence and violent acts in this country is deeply disturbing. If we can't do anything else, can we at least come together to denounce violence and political violence against our fellow human beings? I'd sure like to think so. I certainly hope that Charlie Kirk survives this attack, from whatever scumbag of a person did this. I may not agree with anything the man has to say and find a lot of his viewpoints repulsive. However, I certainly condemn the violent act used against him today and hope that he makes a full recovery.

People online warning there is a video and it is very graphic. Recommend not to watch it.

I saw it. If he survives this, he must be the anti-Christ. (Surviving a grievous headwound thingy.) Because he went over like a puppet whose strings had been cut. And the blood gushed out. Lots of it.

Just saw a close up of the video.  He gets hit in the neck, just left of center and blood immediately starts pouring out.  We're talking A LOT of blood.

I saw it too. Very, very disgusting. The way his body jerks....I wish I wouldn't have seen it. This is something I would never wish on anybody, for any reason. Just....no.

There has been a school shooting in Colorado as well, in which two students were reportedly shot. This is a monthly occurrence in America sadly. We're almost numb to the frequency of these tragic school shootings. Of course, as is the case after every school shooting, we'll do nothing about it.
