The last time I went to one was at the John Hancock building. I think the year started with a "1".

It’s late Capitalism chain food.  You will eat your flash fried food and tip your server who can save the tip money for their child’s operation or fever medicines.  The company will donate a large chunk of their earnings to Donjr and Eric Trump’s coins.

And his attack was hastened by an armed citizen, which I'm told by my liberal friends never happens.

So arm everyone so we can stop each other's crimes?

Certainly not.  But since Tater obviously lives in a bubble where every terrorist attack is only done by right wingers, figured i'd point out another fallacy of the left that guns never help out in these scenarios either.

Your use of absolutes to make a strawman argument are noted.

The “left” doesn’t say never in this instance, the factual evidence shows example are very infrequent and also can result in deaths attributed to mistaken identification (who’s the shooter, who’s the armed citizen). Reducing the subject to a simplistic exaggeration serves little purpose.

There is way more manslaughter by accident and murder by design and suicide by gun in homes where guns happen to be available than Good Guy With A Gun scenarios. That whole thing has been debunked so thoroughly that it hardly bears repeating for the umpteenth time here, but I’ll point you to those resources if you are truly interested in seeing them.

BTW, there’s someone here who honestly annd earnestly disagrees with your “certainly not” retort.

I'm not saying a good guy with a gun is the right policy, just simply pointing out that it does happen sometimes.  And while I don't think it changes the majority outcome of those studies, people that point out mass shooting studies seem to forget that most of our data is based on mass shootings.  What happens if a 'good guy with a gun' gets to a shooter before they kill 3 people?  Well they didn't stop a mass shooting because how can you stop something that didn't happen.  At least in the eyes of the data which those studies are predicated on.

Has anyone on here seen the NYT trans woman in wyoming story?   I do think threatened communities arming themselves will help illustrate the folly of a lot of RW, facile arguments.

Another recent example of a more typical outcome of a gun in the home

Ottawa County sheriff’s detectives say Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, shot and killed his wife, Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, 39, and their six children, before starting multiple fires in the house and fatally shooting himself. -

You can only read the first part of that article, but I can only imagine how awful and gross it was.

Sounds like an incident about 6 months ago here in Cornhole. Ex husband had an unknown security camera in the house so he knew when the current boyfriend wasn't there. Two kids and a wife. He killed all but his ex wife, starting with shooting his youngest kid in a car seat, and eventually himself.

I'm not convinced any gun laws would have prevented this sick **** to do what he did.

It was the Black Pantthers modeling open carry of long guns in the 60's that jump started a lot of gun control energy in the US in that period. Rights for me are always a lot more fun than rights for thee.

Guns have a momentum and psychological power all their own.  I shoot at a range here in NOVA where the RW nutters are clearly on parade but you do see a bunch of people who are not that...you can tell some are definitely not that.  Many diverse people out there who enjoy shooting or want the sense of physical security.
