AZTigersfan Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Tigers are set to face Jackson Wolf, a lefty who’s being called up from double A and in making his major league debut. Quote
chasfh Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Old friend of ours starting here on the north side: Here’s the first pitch of the game, on which he served up a bomb: The next two pitches were hit hard, too. Unless he can fix something minor the dugout, probably a short day for Mike 1 Quote
chasfh Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 And indeed it was a short day for Michael Fulmer: 2.0 3 1 1 1 2. Not a terrible line. Quote

Queue up CMo mentioning him as a Cy Young contender by thr 5th inning...this Tigers offense has a penchant for ****ting the bed against a pitcher/situation like this; hope it's not one of those games... Dtrain72 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) 4 straight balls for a lead off walk is not an ominous start whatsoever... Edited for, 8 straight pitches to walk the first two batters is def not ominous...there's no way the first start in mlb ever opposing pitcher strtikes out the side to start when he toes the rubber... RandyMarsh Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Manning gets out of the jam but the stuff and command doesn't look good, he's got to pick it up or else this Padres lineup will feast on him. Quote
Tigermojo Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 No time for Manning to catch his breath. Tigers out on four pitches. Quote
Dtrain72 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 At least he didnt strike anybody out...but seriously, only 4 pitches for the rookie?! Do these hitters actually get coached up with any sort of strategy?! Maybe try to make the kid work...ffs 1 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 What Negro League team are the Padres representing? (I have not had access to a TV yet). Quote
AZTigersfan Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Absolutely dreadful approaches by the 1 –2–3 hitters. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Seriously? A rookie pitcher and that's the Tigers approach? 4 pitches to get 3 outs in the 1st inning? Pathetic. Bench them all.... Quote

I'm tellin ya, seeing that approach to start the game makes me question Hinch what he actually does/says to these hitters in certain situations. That was just awful. 3 Quote
