AZTigersfan Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 That’s been a familiar sight, tigers threaten but do not score. How do both Tork and Carp strike out to this guy? Quote
AZTigersfan Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 10 k’s trough 4. Gipson-Long has dominated this lineup. Quote

AZTigersfan Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Tork apparently can’t see nor hit an outside change up from a junker. 0-3 with 3k’s against this guy. Quote
chasfh Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Nice start for SGL. Looking at his minors numbers this year, he had elevated FIPs, including 5-plus in Toledo, mainly because he gave up great gobs of bombs. As a result, his xFIP, which is FIP adjusted back to league-average home run rate, is sub-4. I don’t know if that explains his dominating his first two starts. But it is a data point. Quote
Jim Cowan Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I like this Gipson-Long kid, especially after his interview a couple of days ago. Quote

lordstanley Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 And no win for Sawyer thanks to a Lange meltdown. The Angels had looked inept all night. Quote
lordstanley Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Whew. Win #69. Didn’t come easy though. Go 8-6 rest of way to match the Tigers’ best record since 2016, at 77-85. I think that makes me sad not happy. Quote

I think the scouting has caught up with Lange and while he's gotten his earlier streak of wildness under better control, I don't see him being dominant again unless he comes up with a new pitch or two. Here's hoping for a better result this time. Quote
