My God, if Trump didn’t run his whole life and his whole business like a mob boss, we wouldn’t be here. If the 130 K had just been paid to stormy, even if it was in and out of that account that Cohen set up, everything would’ve been fine and legal. The fact that they tried to hide it, the way they and report it as a business expense when it was nothing of the sort, this is where the criminal illegality is, and is very very evident.
He’s guilty, and the cross-examining by the defense can hammer Michael Cohen, calling him “liar liar liar” for the next two days  - it does not matter.
Everything he’s said today as far as what he did for Trump and how these hush money payments were camouflaged as opposed to just an outright payment, is where this is going to be Trump’s downfall.

He’s a criminal.

If he'd just admitted to having sex with her he'd be fine.   We knew Bill Clinton was a serial cheater.   I don't care about that.  I care about how you run things and if you put good people in place.    Clinton did that.   Horribly flawed person but smart and I think he actually wanted to help people.   Trump bankrupted a casino and never pays anyone that works for him,  just pays people off.

I'm not voting for husband skills,  I'm voting for someone who can do the damn job.

I’m worried that because Alan Weisselberg won’t be called as a witness in this case (even if he’d get on the stand and lie), he’s probably the one needed to point to Trump and say “he knew this was how we were going to handle paying Stormy off, and re-paying Michael”.

Might make it easier for even one juror to say “you haven’t absolutely tied Donald to the business fraud as the controlling player”.
Worrisome.

I would be stunned if Trump was found guilty.

Absolutely stunned.

There is already precedence for this - John Edwards - who was found not guilty due to a hung jury/mistrial.

I expect this case to go exactly that way.

Not that Trump isn't guilty. He was first charged for a crime in 1973 - that was over 50 years ago - and he beat that charge and every charge since.

Well, Ronz, count me among the millions who would absolutely LOVE to see you stunned as all hell.  😁
Here’s hoping that the jury will be able to connect the dots that are very obviously there.

You are absolutely correct.  Anybody that thinks he is going to jail is delusional.  The worst thing that might happen is he'll get fined and then end up not paying it.

There is a phrase in the world I live in:  "you can't make your opponent ten feet tall, if you want to put them six feet under."   We clearly don't want to see Trump dead from this process but we do see him being punished in a way that will be a deterrent to future Presidents.

you never know, but one difference is that despite the way Edwards treated his wife, he was a more appealing personality than Trump. I think the other aspect is that in the Edwards case the prosecution spent too much time on the affair - trying make Edwards seem like jerk I guess - instead of providing the evidence that he actually broke the law.. This prosecution has a lot of good black and white evidence - does not appear to be making that mistake.

how pathetic.  You become a member of congress, either a House member or Senator, you even make it to Speaker.  But you have to publicly show up at a courthouse for one of a fraudsters several trials.

So, Richard Nixon must be smiling wherever he is.  He's definitely no longer the most crooked man to be President.   Not that we didn't already know this definitively.
