At least Senator Mullin didn't murder his poor dog. So that's a start. I used to think the harming of animals was something we all universally agreed was wrong and repugnant. But Kristi Noem proved that was not the case.

Since dogs instinctively bark and growl when Trump approaches, he hates them.

Trump is a NY guy and he likes winners.  That's it.  There's no principals to it.

right. NYC will always be the center of the world to him and he will always crave approval there.

Meet the new boss, probably same as the old boss

One potential large difference is that while 1/2 the population is fine with the leader of their party siphoning off money from tax payers whenever he can, they aren't fine with his underlings doing it (unless they are named Trump at least).  I was surprised how much pushback she got from republican senators in her hearing regarding no bid contracts or contracts to questionable entities.  I hope Mullin's noticed that and chooses not to be a crook too.

I guess I don't understand how the GOP will allow one of their members to leave the senate, since they have such a slim majority. But it just might not matter, huh?

We need an anger reaction

The follow up of course is that we've validated the invasion of Ukraine by not getting any UN authority to act and by skipping happily by the Congressional authorization.
