Honestly, what purpose did this post serve.  He doesn’t want to debate or discuss with you.

Nothing you say will resonate with him.  He wants exactly the response that you just gave him.  He loves that he’s bothered you to the extent that you took the time to reply.

He will continue to post incendiary tweets and his own hateful ideas as long as people engage with him.    

If nobody responds to it then he will eventually get bored and move on to troll libs somewhere else.

If you want to be a fan of big-time sports, you can't allow yourself to set a bar of no MAGA ever for your teams because you can't ever have that. Along the same lines... movie stars and musicians.  Maybe not so much movie stars because we don't "see" them and their work is not really them, it's part of an ensemble of art others created.  But if you find yourself jamming to a song from the 50's until maybe 10 years ago when we got smarter about this.. you might not be happy to know what they've done.

Unless someone explicitly does a certain thing I'm not getting wrapped up in it.   I will cheer for Larkin like I've always done.

The idea that only moral people (by whatever definition) can produce things of positive value is a naive and false reading of humanity. Nor does the that fact that they do vitiate their culpability for the bad stuff.

I don't know that fans are under any illusions that a lot of professional athletes are MAGA, particularly in baseball and hockey. But there is a difference between simply harboring those views but otherwise going about your work and putting it in people's faces in a high profile way. 

The US Men's hockey team made a choice by showing up there at the White House and at the Capitol to be used as props for a failing and unpopular President. Particularly after he insulted the women's team. And with that choice, people are going to make judgments on them for better or worse. None of this is particularly surprising

Yes, people accused marothformvp and Stan and Archie of being trolls in the past, but I don't think they were capable of being better.  MAGAholic has always been prickly in this forum, but he was once a reasonable poster.  Now, he has made a a conscious effort to agitate people with every post he makes and is deliberately just being a trouble maker. That is why he is the first person I put on ignore in a couple of years.
