Hard to imagine what Jays fans are going through.  They almost won that game a handful of times—they will likely play back the plays that got away for a long time.

At least when we lost in ‘06 and ‘12, we played pretty bad throughout.  The closest game I can think of as a Tigers fan was Game 163.

I think the only comparable in Detroit sports is the 1988 Pistons one win away from their first NBA championship and being up 3 with 1:00 to go, up 1 with the ball with 30 seconds to go, and up 1 with Kareem about to shoot with 15 seconds to to. But that was on the road and overcoming a point or two in basketball is easier than a run in baseball. Then there the 2008 Wings who were 34 seconds away from a Cup, but they had won one just 6 years earlier and they finished the job on their second chance in ‘08 a couple of nights later.

If we’re opening it up to other Detroit teams, the Josh Reynolds drop in the NFC Championship is up there.

Good place to bring that assessment.  Why don't you go tell the kids about Santa next?

Sorry if you are that fragile, but does it really make any difference in your life?  If you say yes, then you have a very unfulfilled existence.

I hope he saved his money and invested wisely. He's gonna need it.

In 2024 he made over $700 k.  He can always find employment outside of baseball like everyone else does.

I think it's OK to make baseball a big part of your life.  It is fun following a team and getting emotional about outcomes.  In fact, it becomes a lot less interesting if you don't care.  The key is balance.  Once the game is over, it is healthy to move on.  I  understand why people get upset and some people are not so good at turning off their emotions, but it's best not to let it affect other parts of your life.

Sure, it's fun and exciting following a team, but if it really affects someone's life when they lose, that person needs to take a step back.

If you are smashing TVs or become depressed became a team lost...I just don't know what to say.

I’m not.  Try to appreciate the irony.

Love the candid insight from Rojas as to what was going through his mind as the 9th inning play at the plate unfolded.

That's something.  So much to that play, so much complexity and variability from different angles.  Given the circumstances, its got to be one of the most breathtaking and heartstopping plays I've ever seen.  The defensive positioning, the lead off, the catch, the throw, the foot on/off/on the plate.  Just amazing and fortunate to have the current day technology to see it from so many perspectives.
