At Toledo it's the LH side OF depth which is pretty thin. Baddoo is it and he is off the 40 and he's not doing all that much at AAA anyway - though he's got a nice walk rate going. Then again, even with Carpenter down we still have 4 LH bats in Det that can play OF. Yeah my thought was more of a pick him up and then dump him if he doesn’t produce once Carp is back, and let the Malloys/Sweeneys etc focus on what they need to improve on in Toledo instead of riding pine in Detroit. If I were thinking it about my own team it would be...why do they lose one out of three games in a weekend series so consistently? Quote

IdahoBert Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2025/jul/02/athletics-las-vegas-stadium-john-fisher-mlb-debacle?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other This is worth reading. The Guardian newspaper reports the outlook for the new Las Vegas stadium is not as rosy as alleged. It explains that financing for the stadium is highly problematic, due to rising construction costs in Vegas, and to the deficient acumen in these matters attributed to the Athletics owner. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Wow, Toronto beat the Yankees four games straight to move into first place in the AL East and the Yankees are tied for second place with Tampa Bay. Quote

To be honest, I had no idea people could bet on the outcome of a single pitch. I guess they have to bet quick because of the pitch clock...lol Quote

The # number of pitch or the # of pitch in a certain situation like “my third pitch in the 4th inning” I actually have a friend who tells a story from years ago that someone told him to watch a random pitch in say the 5th ending would go to the backstop and he watched the game and it happened. it doesn’t mean the whole game is fixed (like my friend believes) but you can see how people can make a lot of $ on random things you wouldn’t expect and previously wouldn’t be caught. If it happened years ago, I’m certain it’s going on now. Edited 2 hours ago by 4hzglory Quote
papalawrence Posted 3 minutes ago Posted 3 minutes ago Sports leagues used to equate gambling to evil. Until they all sold their souls when they realized the revenue it could bring them. The sponsorships are all gambling now. It's not just Beasley in the nba and Ortiz in MLB. Quote
