I’m pretty sure Riley Greene did this the last time they were on ESPN. Did you see the all star game? Clayton Kershaw was talking while pitching. Literally in the moment. Now, granted, that’s an exhibition game and he was only in there for two batters. But he was a blast on his short time on the mic. Thank you, I had no idea. I honestly can't believe this. This seems like baseball 101. I almost had my head taken off by a batted ball and I WAS paying attention - and it wasn't hit by some guy on ESPN Sunday Night baseball - it was just little Ralph from down the street. I'm old and a traditionalist. What have they done to the game I once loved? When I think they can't find new lows... And don't get me started on how if I chose to watch these games I have to buy them through a gambling site so I can hear and read gambling stuff all game while they mention the available pitching staff who are not suspended for potential gambling violations. Carlin would have a ball with this stuff. WTF? 1 Quote

lordstanley Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Oh dear, Yankees' pen blow another game. Not Bednar this time. But after the Rangers score 1 in the 9th to tie it, deadline acquisition Jake Bird serves up a 3-run home run walkoff in the 10th to lose it. After tonight the Yankees will be 5.5 games behind Toronto and 3 games behind Boston in the East, and they're only 1.5 games up on Texas for the final wildcard. They're not in a shoo-in to make the playoffs. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I’m just happy that with the newfound intimacy established between MLB and NASCAR, the case has been made for baseball to be mentioned in the same breath with all the real sports like professional wrestling, wet T-shirt night, and dwarf tossing. I was in my early 20s, 2000 miles from local Detroit media, baseball was just a distant memory of childhood and something I’d left behind, and I hadn’t looked at the sporting news for years and spent every weekend hiking with friends in the mountains and deserts of Southern Arizona. I did go to a few AAA games in Tucson at that time and I remember in 1975 wearing my Tiger‘s cap at a game and people walked up to me and honestly offered their condolences, one baseball fan to another. It did kind of happen in the mid-1980s for the Tigers, but the hopes that this would be something that would last 10 years or so doesn’t seem possible, especially under the conditions of today of rampant inequality in what some teams can afford to spend and what other teams can’t.
