I am wondering if they have seen enough of Carlos Hernandez.

That would be pretty sad if they picked him up because they thought a few innings might disprove what 29 other teams thought of him.  He's broken.  They'll do some work to see if he can be fixed.

If memory serves me correct the Tigers started playing better almost immediately after Riley joined the team which coined the short term saying around here of "Riley Greene effect" anytime something positive happened for the Tigers in that time.

Remember how the Tigers coaches sucked because the BRaves "fixed" Robbie Grossman?

Not really framing that right. A lot of these waiver wire pick ups are just attempts to try to slip them through later and keep the player without using a 40 man spot.

Gage designated for assignment to make room for Enns.

Not a surprise. I like that Harris is active and keeps searching. But it's still usually from the DFA pile. At some point he'll hopefully explore trades

September is going to be a dogfight.  Tigers are going to be playing a lot of games against teams with something to play for.  Mets and Yankees are division leaders and I expect the others to be in the fight for a wildcard.

3 vs Mets

3 @ Yankees

3 vs Cleveland

3 vs Atlanta

3 @ Cleveland

3 @ Boston

With how the other central teams are playing, we will probably have clinched by then…

I really wish the articles had the author in the link so one could easily reject out of hand anything from certain reporters that are depressingly bad at their jobs.

So close..

So, has voting really changed that much?  Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know.  But it seems like voting results now reflect statistics much more than in the past when reputation had a major part of all star voting.  I’m not complaining, I like it.

nice summary.  Thanks for doing the work and sharing.  At first blush, the $66mm makes you think they have room to go get someone, but I wonder how much of that cushion will be needed to retain certain guys. I don't believe anything is imminent, and the threshold may rise, but it would be nice to lock some guys up early if possible.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that aside for Mike Trout getting votes. The votes seem to be cast pretty intelligently.
