But the '24 Tigers even with their torrid finish still topped out at 86 wins and lost the division by 6.5 games. to get up to 87 wins the tigers only need to go 28-37. Before this ugly 4 game losing streak, the tigers had won 8 of 10. Quote

Gulp...our bullpen better shape up. Quote

He admits as much: “Since I was there, it's been a lot different," Suárez said, comparing the Tigers of the 2010s to the 2025 Tigers. "It's a new team with a lot of young guys and a lot of talent. I think they have a really good chance to make it more than the playoffs this year. They got, for me, the best pitcher in the league right now: Tarik Skubal," Suárez said. "They got a bunch of good players. I think they really have a chance to win it all this year." Quote
KL2 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 (edited) Super pumped when I pulled a 10/10 purple refractor of a series 2 standard pack at target. Even better it was a tiger. It was Alex Cobb Edited July 18 by KL2 1 1 Quote

I don't worry about whether a new player is good in the clubhouse. That is something that fans know nothing about, so I'll let Harris and Hinch worry about that. Also, if the team is so fragile that one player coming for two months is going to change everything, then maybe the clubhouse isn't so great. By the way, why doesn't anyone worry about new pitchers being a poor fit in the clubhouse? Quote

But I'm pretty sure Harris takes it into account when considering a player to sign or trade for. Quote

tiger2022 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Why does Trey Sweeney have a roster spot? Easily a bottom 3 shortstop in the league. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) This is the 6/7 game losing streak I have been expecting since April. Tigers are good but we know they've been charmed too. Still leading the division by 11 games and tied for the most wins in baseball. Houston is also on a 3 game losing streak and sorry if I just don't believe the Blue Jays will keep this up. And regarding Sweeney. I agree. They just don't seem to have another option. McKinstry could play SS, but he's not that good. Plus there is always that fear in the back of our minds that McKinstry and Baez will turn back into McKinstry and Baez. And if Meadows and Vierling don't get going soon, maybe a trip to Toledo is in order. Edited July 20 by Motor City Sonics Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 It doesn't help when the anchor of your lineup goes from 362/404/676 in the month before the July 2 DH, to 167, 212, 458 since that second game. A drop that sudden to a level so far below his norm has to make you wonder if he is trying to play through something he maybe shouldn't. 1 Quote
