Motor City Sonics Posted Sunday at 07:06 PM Posted Sunday at 07:06 PM Okay, so it's 5-0. But there's still a chance today. Quote

It's only 3-0 and we all know this team can strike fast. In other news. I'm on drugs. they're legal ones, mind you, but not good. And no, not weed. It's one that I would say is Caffeine Plus, but it's expensive and my 60 year old arse needs frequent jump starts. I had tickets to today's game. Free tickets, but 14 hour work days and then house.yard upkeep - I just couldn't do it (the game). I am leaning towards the realization that this might be my last year doing my own yard work. And that is horrifying to me. I can relate. Even just cutting the grass is kicking my butt this year. It sucks because I used to take pride in a beautiful lawn. Plus, I'm cheap...lol Quote
IdahoBert Posted Sunday at 07:24 PM Posted Sunday at 07:24 PM I sure am glad this game isn’t my respite from a world of woe today Quote

But I do take pride in taking care of it MYSELF. But that, and constantly having to pull weeds and take care of all of it......man - I didn't go to see Fontaines DC this Wednesday, even though I could have free tickets through my job. Because it was a midweek show (I get off the air at 7. They ARE a real team as far as pitching and were reeling offensively until yesterday. In the long run doesnt mean muc but for a weekend series coming gome and Mother's Day and all ...verrry dissapointing. Quote

papalawrence Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM Both DeGrom yesterday and Evoldi today, they're pitching really well. And Texas bats have been overdue. Sucks, but not a tragedy for Detroit. Maybe they get to Texas bullpen yet today Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted Sunday at 07:58 PM Posted Sunday at 07:58 PM Hey, we all know they were kind of overachieving to this point, but the giveupism should not be in play from the fans. It's a long season and at some point your flaws will show. The Angels and Rockies are terrible baseball teams and the Tigers did exactly what a good team is supposed to do. They went 6-1. Even losing these two games puts the Tigers at 14-5 at home. I am more concerned with losing Casey Mize and wondering if Jack is hurting right now. Looks like we're getting our first Frankenstein pitching day Tuesday. Jackson Jobe will be back and not pitching at Coors Field. I don't think he'll have PTSD from that experience. Imagine a young pitcher having to start 15 games a year in that place. Yikes. Quote

My dad was in the lawn service business before it became profitable. I'd get drug out of bed every summer from the time I was 15, hated it Our house in Farmington Hills had a huge slope in the back yard. I was too cheap to opt for a riding mower then. Managed to keep everything decent though the next door neighbors were out every weekend manicuring their lawn. Sold the house in 2017, moved into an apartment for a while. Current home is a patio style town house with the HOA paying for lawn service. Don't miss it at all. We do have a nice little garden of potted plants on the patio. At nearly 73 with bad lungs just too old to play gardener anymore. Quote
chasfh Posted Sunday at 08:18 PM Posted Sunday at 08:18 PM From 0-2 to base on balls for Riley! Drove the reliever out of the game. And now tying run is in the hole. Quote
chasfh Posted Sunday at 08:23 PM Posted Sunday at 08:23 PM Ah well, at least I’m not disappointed since I didn’t have any actual hope. Sad to lose the series, but another series starts tomorrow. Get back on the horse. Quote

Maybe they get to Texas bullpen yet today plus the hitters just get used to bad pitching and then have to re-adjust to bearing down when suddenly there are a lot fewer mistakes to hit. With Skubal they didn't have to do that much. But they better figure out by tomorrow night because I'm paying to watch that one! Edited Sunday at 08:41 PM by gehringer_2 Quote

kdog Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM Rangers are the best team in that division and they weren’t going to be this bad of an offense all year…we caught the brunt of it. A.J. romad1 Posted Sunday at 09:01 PM Posted Sunday at 09:01 PM Royals vanquished. Twins losing in extras (but the runner on 2nd rule might give them a cheapie tie game here). Guardians playing at pm. Serve was held even if we didn't do the thing we needed to increase our lead. Quote

I edge, cut and fertilizer. Give my neighbors advice, when they ask. But so far this year, I can't even get thru cutting half my lawn without stopping for a break. And it hasn't even been hot yet. I don't like these companies that come to people's yards with their worn out, nasty and gross lawn equipment to "service" peoples lawns. They spread lawn disease. I need to find a neighborhood kid to come over and use my equipment while I stand over their shoulder telling them how wrong they're doing it. 🤣🤣🤣 Quote
