That is a nice set! The 78 set is my favorite, that is when I really started collecting. Twice in my life I started out to get the '78 set completely autographed. The first time I had a few of the really tough ones in there: Bostock, Burke, Vuckovich, Martin, and a few others. I was in college then, really needed to pay rent, so I sold it about 1/3 complete. Started it again about 20 years later, and had a really hard time finding legit autos of the toughies, and stopped. The hardest one in that set is the Thurman Munson.  He didn't like to sign, he didn't sign through the mail, and card was only out for about 18 months before his death. I have never see one I thought was legit for sale. The Bostock is also really tough, but he was a willing signer so there are a few more of those out there.

The Tigers claim reliever Carlos Hernandez off the waiver wire, released by Philadelphia. He's out of options so he's joining the big league roster. Vest to the IL? Or Tyler Owens demoted?

Let Fetter work with him for a few weeks and see if he's better. I hear he has a 95+ MPH fastball. Location, location, location. 😅

Skenes would just be moved back to Friday.

So give Skubal an extra day of rest and hope the rain holds off tomorrow night. The weather app says only a 77% chance of rain. That's a 23% chance of no rain...😅

Please let this be a happy story.

Not out of the woods. The ulnar nerve is what provides feeling to those two fingers, so there's likely something brewing in the elbow. I mean, there likely is for every pitcher, but this may be a sign.

PIrates at Tigers in the 2009 World Series at Bennett Park.  The home plate area you see in the pic below would become the right field corner at Navin Field. The home plate at Navin Field was located in what is the left field corner in this picture.

I don't know if Briggs already had a bad rep when he bought the team or if in those days people just thought it too vain for him to rename the park after himself, or maybe just habit, but as little squirt in the late 50's, a lot of men in my father's cohort continued to call the ball park Navin Field.

I know it’s hard for them to come up with more than 10 to 12 minutes of content for this 30 minute pregame show, but fortunately they have 18 to 20 minutes of ads. At least they had Don Kelly to talk about which is good.
