tiger2022 Posted yesterday at 01:27 AM Posted yesterday at 01:27 AM (edited) If Skubal isn't his normal self and the Tigers get swept, they will only be 3 up in the loss column with the 3 M stooges, Morton, Montero, and Mize facing a super hot Atlanta team. In the last 5 games the Braves have outscored their opponents 39-13 and Olson is a one man wrecking crew. If they can take one out of 3 against the Braves, they should consider themselves lucky. The Guardians are playing the Twins who long ago stopped caring about playing competitive baseball on a consistent basis. They could literally be tied going into the last Cleveland series of the year. If that's the case, I can see them just rolling over and getting swept. Edited yesterday at 01:28 AM by tiger2022 Quote

Looking at the remaining schedules, Cleveland plays 4 in Minnesota and finish up at home with 3 against Detroit and 3 against Texas. The Tigers play 3 at home against Atlanta and for some reason, we're no longer beating teams with bad records. Then we finish on the road, 3 in Cleveland and 3 against a possible playoff team in Boston. We very well may be in the midst of a sad historic collapse. Quote
MeanJim Posted yesterday at 01:36 AM Posted yesterday at 01:36 AM How is Kwan not hitting .400? Do other pitching staffs know how to get him out? Quote
Tigermojo Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Remember that time Bert said where's my six runs and then the Tigers scored six runs? That was awesome. 1 Quote
tiger2022 Posted yesterday at 01:43 AM Posted yesterday at 01:43 AM Remember that time when relief pitchers came into the game and didn't walk a bunch of guys? Quote
lordstanley Posted yesterday at 01:46 AM Posted yesterday at 01:46 AM 4-0. Now watch the Tigers score 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted yesterday at 01:47 AM Posted yesterday at 01:47 AM 0-2 and he throws a meatball right down the middle. A rookie mistake. A bad rookie. Quote
Adullin Posted yesterday at 01:48 AM Posted yesterday at 01:48 AM Now that the game is out of reach let's put our good reliver in Quote
papalawrence Posted yesterday at 01:53 AM Posted yesterday at 01:53 AM Glass half full It's been such a streaky season for several teams. Detroit's next streak upward will start tomorrow. Quote
romad1 Posted yesterday at 01:56 AM Posted yesterday at 01:56 AM enough of this crap...win tomorrow Quote

tiger2022 Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM It's weird that Cade Smith throws 8 pitches and they are all strikes. Is that allowed? I thought it was a rule that relievers had to walk at least guy an inning Quote
IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM I don’t know how to wrap my mind around this. All I can assume is that there’s enough data out there and enough scouting that whatever the Tigers were doing earlier in the year isn’t working now and corrections have to be made. I hope they can make them. Quote
papalawrence Posted yesterday at 02:11 AM Posted yesterday at 02:11 AM KC scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th to go up 6-4 over Seattle. Quote

It could be as simple as teams making more of an effort to pitch against their normal tendencies just because they all know at this point that the Tigers are really big on tracking pitcher tendencies. When you are dealing with human performance, the past is only a reliable indicator of the future until the people responsible for creating the history decide it isn't. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted yesterday at 03:38 AM Posted yesterday at 03:38 AM Skubal to the rescue. He needs to be a stopper. If not, I don't know...root for Minnesota? Houston to win 2 of 3? The Tigers really need to win 3 out of the next 4, hopefully starting tomorrow. Quote
