Sports_Freak Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Devin White.....hmmmmm...linebacker position is now a positive position? At worst, our depth is better. Sign Gibbs... Quote
Tigeraholic1 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Not Lions news but hopefully this is a benchmark to sign Gibbs now. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Bijan Robinson just set the market price for running backs. He just signed a $75 million, 3 year contract. $25 million per. See Brad? You waited and now Gibbs is more expensive. Quote
Jason_R Posted August 4 Posted August 4 https://www.si.com/nfl/conor-orr-predicts-all-272-games-2026-nfl-season Don't look now but SI has Detroit finishing 14-3 and taking the #1 seed in the NFC. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted August 5 Posted August 5 The Lions have almost the same nucleus that won 15 games. The team is not old. Everyone is in their prime. I don't get all these sports writers who want to close their window. Quote
Jason_R Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I happen to think they are due for a bounce back season too. Do I want the national media painting a target on them? Not really. Quote

I don't get all these sports writers who want to close their window. It's the same young core but they lost a lot of key vets that were huge parts of that 15 win team. Ragnow, Decker, Anzalone, Montgomery and the star safety duo might very well never be the same again so I can see why pundits aren't as high on the group, not to mention the setback season last year. I think Holmes has done a good job rebuilding the offensive line, there are still weapons all over the field on offense and I think the defensive line will be much better with a fully healthy Hutch and McNeil and I expect a big jump from Tyliek plus the schedule on paper is one of the easiest in the league but the Back 7 has loads of question marks and the offensive line while more talented this season has unproven guys at both the guard spots and right tackle so it's hard to know what to expect from this group whereas two years ago there was more certainty with the vet leaders. buddha Posted August 9 Posted August 9 health and luck are key in the nfl. the lions had neither last year and won 9 games. i suspect they'll bounce back and win 11-12 this year just because they should be healthier and luckier. Quote
