Went down the rabbit hole of City of Livonia City Council election results from this past Nov 4.

Most notable things to me...because they were all "No Party" is the high, high absentee number (Livonia has become a retirement home) and extremely high vote totals (Livonia almost votes at 85% rate of total population and of the voting age population it has to be an extremely high number).

Total pop: 95k

Total vote: 80k 

• Total absentee vote:  55k
• Total day-of vote: 25k

Not relaying any of this as a revelation about trends or anything but that high participation number was really interesting.  I'll take a look at another Detroit suburb or two and compare later today.
