So our closer last year and newly bought hall of fame closer can’t get 3 outs without blowing a 5 run lead, but Paul Sewald can come in and strike out the side for them.  Good Lord.

 

Tork needs to stop having so much difficulty with timing and recognition.  That hanging breaking ball should’ve been sent to the moon.

Tiger hitters have only hit one HR in four games so far. The lineup stinks, and the bullpen is probably pretty bad, too.

Maybe things go differently if Rogers challenges that ball 4 call that obviously caught the plate.  Tigers still had two challenges, why wouldn't you?

Agree the bats have been underwhelming, yet they put up 11 runs in the last two games. But we've already had 4 different pitchers on the staff suffer melt downs, and some sloppy D. The sloppy D will probably continue because it is at least in part the downside of moving guys all around the diamond every day. There is no free lunch. Every strategy that has an upside has some downside.

It was the 8th inning.  They were up 5-1.   I went to bed.

-Mize was very good(best start in his career)?

-Offense still too spotty; needs some random power..could be a Tork even year regression

-Bullpen doesn't have a great flamethrower(they don't seem to have much in the org, don't emphasize it)...but last night was just a cluster of dumb stuff happening at once.

Meh.....this loss sucked. I thought we all agree that Vest is only a 9th inning pitcher? I guess Hinch didn't get the memo?

But...perspective...play .500 on the road...and after Skubal wins today...we'll be......500.

Last year's collapse has made circumspect about getting too high or low after game 5. I'm more worried about health and the macro stuff.
