Nobody is tuning into a game to watch the sideline reporter’s banter.

And Johnny Kane > Daniella

Somebody must like it or they wouldn't keep her.

Nobody goes out and buys a coke because they see a commercial either. But it’s about packaging and branding and planting seeds.  When people see someone like them it gives them an attachment.

Advertising does influence consideration and purchase (I have 37 years of advertising/marketing experience to back this up). And my point is that young girls are likely not tuning into a Tigers broadcast to watch Daniella.  Old guys like us watch baseball on TV. I do agree that there are fans of Tiger broadcast who enjoy the Benetti/Dirks/Bruce hijinks, but they are watching anyway.  And I do believe that Kane does a better job than Daniella does.

It’s not just about watching the game. It’s about liking the Tigers and wanting to go to games and being a fan.  It is to their advantage to mix it up.

I think we’re in violent agreement?

I like Daniella, including her work with the Wings. Not her banter or her crowd interviews, but her interviews of players are fine as are her game previews. I think she likes sports and likes the Tigers and Wings, which sounds like an obvious requirement but isn’t always the case with people in her position.

Yes, she does sound like a real fan, moreso than others I have observed in her position.

I like Daniella. Not as much as Johnnie, but she's good at what she does in my opinion. She said she was raised in Michigan and has always been a Tigers fan and I think she meshes well with the other broadcasters. Like others posted, she wasn't hired to appeal to us old f arts. Social media is now part of the baseball world. That, and having to subscribe to 14 streaming sites to take in every game

The development of Lee and Montero is good work by the Tigers staff; Lee doesn't have great stats but can occasionally provide some pop..he can actually drive the ball.

Montero's basically won them two games on this trip. I'm glad he's going to stick in the rotation for awhile. He is very valuable in the swing role.

Only P&I advertising is designed to get you to buy now. Brand advertising as you say is designed to plant the seed so that when you are in the mood or the market for a type of product, you consider the brand. Very few people are in the market for every type of product at all times, so establishing share of mind is important.

Oh, she was lovely.  I have a bookmark for her instagram on my gaming computer.  I stumbled across that the other day.

A thing Coke does very well is associate their product with food tastes.   You can drink this with BBQ, Pizza, Mexican, Chinese and all the colors of the rainbow.

Meanwhile Pepsi is left with, 'we aren't coke' and 'we were first into the communist countries'
