Rushing to get the play off instead of letting some clock run out, and then lining up Sewell as a WR. That is just trying to be the smartest guy in the room mentality. I don't think he was necessarily running out of bounds to save time but just that when he made his cut the momentum was taking him there and he had a player running full speed at him so he just stepped out of bounds vs. getting drilled by the player.
