  2. I fricken love Sheila being this involved. She gives a crap. I know WCF cared too but without getting too political, don't ever let your beloved franchise, or any other organization, be run by an alcoholic.
  3. Well, and the thing about Jones’ slow start at the plate this season. I forget which pod it was, but one of them this week mentioned his rustiness to start the season given his time at the WBC with Korea and how that might have set him back a bit and not being able to get going. That probably is a variable that seems to be reasonable.
  4. I should really ease up on Jones’ defense given my own fielding foibles in softball lately.
  5. Nice piece in MLBTR:
  6. Today
  7. As far as how much to pay him. I think I heard recently that the average starter makes 22M. Duren is better than the average starter. I think 25M is a good floor. I'd be willing to go as high 30M. You could maybe convince me to swallow 35M. Maybe. I'm not touch anything near 40M or more. He's an RFA. If the Pistons are smart, they'll wait and see what offers he gets on the market. I doubt he'll get many because the rules are really stacked against RFA's and nobody wants to tie up their cap space when we can match anything they offer. The Pistons hold all the cards, so why bid against yourself?
  8. Just watched Blake Miller’s introductory press conference. Hard not to like the guy—he put on a MasterClass with his responses. Very impressive.
  9. Exactly. Duren is a better version of Dre. He's just as bad at defense and just as bad at any offense outside of put-backs and lobs. I'm thankful he doesn't miss shots intentionally to pad his stats like Drummond did and that he spends some time in the gym, but he's still pretty replaceable in this era of the NBA. People talk about his passing, but making a good pass occasionally doesn't make you a "good passer". When you average 2 Assists and 1.9 Turnovers, you aren't a good passer. Duren is a high level role player. But he's also a traditional Center who's a poor defender that can't space the floor. We can talk about his age and all that, but players don't suddenly become elite paint defenders. Maybe he could learn to hit the corner three one day but I'm going to need to see him take a couple a game before we start to project that. You don't pay that archetype max money. The worst thing you can have in the NBA is a fringe All-Star making max money. It cripples you, especially with the new rules. That said, I'm not paying Ausar max money either, because I think the max should be reserved for All NBA first team candidates. However, if you put a gun to my head and made me choose to give one or the other a max, it's Ausar and I don't even have to think hard about it. Why? We don't have to talk about projections with Ausar's defense. He's literally the best perimeter defender in the league right now and was a top 3 finalist for DPOY. Both the numbers and the eye test will easily show you that he warps the game (on both ends) when he's on the court. It's no coincidence that this team suddenly got good when Ausar came back from his blood clot. If we had a spacing big man and a better coach we could run Ausar in the Draymond role as the DHO hub instead of using Duren as we do now. He's a way better passer (2 to 1 Ast/TO) and putting the ball in his hands solves the spacing issues. Imagine prime Draymond with Ausar's athleticism if you want to do some projections of what he could be in years to come. That's much closer to a max player than a big man who can't defend or shoot, not matter how good he is at layups and dunks when teams don't box him out during the regular season.
  10. do you think duren is better than cade and/or ausar?
  11. Jahmai in the outfield vs Gleyber at 2B with a groundball starter...hard to pick lol.
  12. that just shows that the warriors are human. were all tired of kerr's political comments.
  13. i hope duren turns it around and dominates this game.
  14. cade wasnt elite then. he is now. duren wasnt elite then either and he isnt now.
  15. Does Jahmai Jones have a fielding glove?
  16. People who spend a lot of time thinking about gore are into firing squads. I'll bet its POTUS.
  17. When you actually think about electrocutions, gas, and lethal injections, maybe a firing squad would be more humaine.
  18. They're also mad that Democrats grew a spine for once instead of rolling over and saying "Sir, may I have another" Bullies don't like folks who fight back
  19. Brad's reactions are always tremendous. He clearly has full confidence and conviction in every pick he makes.
  20. What do they intend to accomplish here?
  21. From a positional stand point I'd be disappointed by that. But as of right now I'm still firmly in the camp of: "In Brad we Trust."
  22. Related to McNeill, they also played him out of position a lot when AQM wasn't on the field (and Davenport was injured). He's not designed to be setting the edge. Hopefully they'll have the personnel and health this year to put him back where he belongs at the 3-tech.
  23. I would agree with this 100%. Excellent way to looking at it.
  24. Yes, lots of wild cards on defense. I think McNeil will be healthy again and I think Williams will step into the Reader role and fill it well. But Anzalone was a real dude back there and they’re going to need someone who can cover TEs. With the health issues at safety, and the uncertainty about Arnold, the back end needs help.
  25. At work sometimes we get stuff related to the season we're currently working on, usually sweatshirts and a mug or something. Late last year a coworker who is in office (I work remote) reached out saying there was something there for me. He was going to bring it to our holiday party, but I couldn't go to the party in the end because I couldn't find a dog sitter. I messaged the guy and said I appreciate him offering to bring it to the party, I didn't want him to have to worry about it anymore so he could just stash it somewhere in the office or even give/throw it away. No response. Early this week I get an email from him saying he'll mail the stuff to me and I can pay him back. Random, I apologize that he's had the stuff for so long especially since I forgot about it. I just say sure mail it. Package showed up yesterday, I let him know I got it so let me know how to pay him. He sends me his venmo and says it was $17. I have the box in front of me and it clearly says the shipping was $11.32 lmao. I didn't say anything to the guy and just sent $17 but I'm highly annoyed at the whole situation over stuff I didn't even want! Why even send it for $11, I clearly wasn't itching to get this just send it as cheap as possible! Hell send an office PA to my house it has been done before! I feel like I just bought him a drink doing a favor I didn't want and it's annoying me on a Friday!
