Was Zach McKinstry's injury bad? I wasn't watching live and just found out about it. -
Clippers lose and are in the lottery, but the pick goes to OKC. The Thunder have a 7% chance of moving into the top 4. That changes to 9% if Phoenix loses on Friday.

I think you guys are talking about different things. Maybe I’m wrong, but G2 is simply referring to the general delay in providing the live game broadcast (tigers channel being shown on directv, comcast, spectrum, mlb, whatever) from the source (real life), relative to the shorter delay for over the air radio. Based on this conversation I’m envisioning G2 describing what happens what you set your radio next to your tv and turn up the radio volume and mute the tv (which I have definitely done in the past). Chas appears to be referring to the feature on mlb.tv services where you can select between listening 97.1 Dan or Benetti via using the audio overlay feature provided by the app. That said, I have experienced poor video/audio syncing on the mlb app for various teams and sources. Sometimes the delay is the source audio. Sometimes it is the overlay. I don’t think I have ever experienced 10 seconds. I find it to be consistently inconsistent for multiple teams/games. Usually the video broadcast audio is fine (but on rare occasions it has been off). The radio audio overlay seems to be 50/50 whether it will sync. I don’t believe that the tigers are somehow adjusting the “dials” in the background of their mlb.tv hosted broadcast to make a niche feature less functional so that more people will listen to benetti’s ad reads when watching the game on mlb.tv. -

So if Montero pitches really well again, do we even want Verlander back in the rotation? -
This team, the way it is now, isn't going to scratch and claw for anything. They're the softest Wings team since the 70's. Las night they could have gone out and played for pride, but instead got destroyed because they have no pride. Mo is the only one I care about. They can trade every other player and I wouldn't care, because they don't seem to.

I had a memory from my childhood of being at the Detroit Catholic Social Services pancake breakfast around Christmas one year. This would be in the 1970s, i'm about 10 yrs old. We are there because my mother, a neo-natal nurse, has signed us up to be foster parents for a 10+ year stretch of having infants in the home. We've already had them for a few years at this point. Generally one-two babies under a year old in the home at any given time and usually for just a month or so each. Occasionally we would have one for somewhat longer, we'd grow attached to those. Much harder to deal with.. Anyway, at the pancake breakfast all the kids were given door gifts wrapped up in nice shiny Christmas paper. I, for some reason, did not like the first one I got and went to the lady at the table who was giving them out. She told me she couldn't take it back unless it was wrapped. I went away to an unoccupied table to sulk but then noticed that the table cloths were made of festive looking Christmas paper and had tape holding the paper to the tables. I was able to rewrap the present with this table's paper and tape which did not look exactly like the ones that were being given out but technically it was now wrapped. She exchanged it with a "you got me" laugh and I got a cool Spitfire model airplane that helped me celebrate Christmas for me by strafing imaginary German soldiers for the rest of the morning. FTR, family is very much not Catholic. Mom was the daughter of a baptist pastor and Dad is very Anglican/Episcopal.

I don't recall seeing back-to-back plays at the plate like that before, certainly not with the flare of the slide by Baez. -

It was one of the worst days of my life. Towards the end of the day when it became clear that the absolutely most impossible thing, the most awful thing conceivable had happened, I don’t really have the words to express what I felt. This photo I assembled years ago captures the place Brian occupies in my grasp of our collective memory. -
Can't stand the guy but you have to give props to Green.

My only point being we always said Andre was a player who couldn't get out his own way to get better when it still mattered, and this is just another sign of that.

You need that to move the missus and a couple of sides.

Hard to believe the Tigers are just 1.5 games back from the best record in the AL. And I hate the Dodgers

$25k. pocket change for him.

Orlando about to complete the trifecta. Lost to a Boston team that was resting all 5 starters and some key reserves. A win would have kept them out of the playin. Lost to Philly without their best player. Now about to lose to Charlotte at home to end their season.

he could "shoot" back in detroit. the difference is that when he was in detroit after he signed the big deal, he thought he SHOULD be shooting. now he is just a bit player who shoots in garbage time for the laughs.
-
at the ripe old age of 32, Andre has - for the 1st time in his career, learned to shot a little. He has made 32 of 90 attempted threes this season. Imagine if he had had the discipline to make himself learn that 13 years ago.

well, they had one triple and the Tigers had one three base error of a type that scorers don't count. -
Boston gonna sweep Philly. But they're happy for a couple of days.
