  1. Past hour
  2. Sweet gas prices. Thanks @Tigeraholic1 and @Archie you guys nailed it there.
  3. Might as well start this series with a win. And since he's already at 5 straight games, Tork might as well hit another home run to make it 6 and break the Tiger's record.
  4. Little Caesars Arena - Detroit, MI Watch: Prime
  5. Aren't prices posted on the items when you come in ? Like, if I am looking at a box of Multigrain Cheerios, how are they going to charge me somehting different if the price is posted right in front of the item? Is this for online shopping only? Only time I have ever bought groceries and had them delivered is when I had Covid. Whenever I go to the store I always buy some sort of produce and I have to pick that out myself, plus I live in Dearborn and I probably have 15 grocery or produce stores within a 10 minute drive. Maybe more, so a quick trip is all that's needed. The new Harvest Market in Ann Arbor at Briarwood is very convenient because I work less then half a mile from there. I thought they would be really overpriced, but they are not. Lots of produce too. I love it. Props to Maryland for protecting people. Again, as I have posted in other threads, it just floors me - why can't we just live in a stand-up world? If you just sold what you sold without this nonsense, you're still making plenty of money. It's never enough, though, is it?
  6. The Red Sox are in a very very tough division. One that any team within it (including themselves) could win. It seems to me that they did not do much to improve themselves in the offseason, so they blamed the manager. Correct me if I am wrong (because I don't pay close attention like I used to), but they changed their strategy from run scoring to run-prevention and they gave that change a month? Changes like that take time. The Tigers are a run-prevention team too and that took a couple of years to finally click and they were in a much weaker division. Now, the Mets. What a ****ing disaster. Swept at home by the Rockies? LOL. I am stunned Mendoza still has his job. Mets fans must be screaming MENDOZA like McBain does in the Simpsons. I am stunned that Alex Cora hasn't already been named Mets manager. He's still a good manager, but the change in strategy in Boston wasn't given any time. If the Mets don't make the move for Cora very soon, the Phillies probably will. This Braves series is going to be a very tough one for the Tigers. I think they'll be fortunate to win one. Who are the Guardians playng this week?
  7. Games going down to the wire only magnify the turnovers and missed free throws. Just get a basket on half of the turnovers...even a third...and it's a win.
  8. Okay, I will dunk now.
  9. Did I say season? I meant "first half."
  10. Today
  11. Yeah, don't do anything significant at the trade deadline. We've seen this before Tigers could have used just one more hitter. Nope, we get washed up pitchers like Charlie Morton Wings year-after-year don't do anything at the deadline - finallly get someone this year and he makes it worse. But the Pistons - having the season they were having - did next to nothing to capitalize on it. And here we are. This team could win 3 in a row. But not likely now.
  12. The big jump in OPS goes back as far as last August but the K rate was still terrible even late last season - so the better K rate this season is only on 80 AB so far. The better production has been over a little more than 200 AB. I suppose Candelario had close to a half season of higher production before falling back, but the recollection is hazy and I'm too lazy to look him up. The thing with Workman is that IIRC, he was also showing signs of improvement after the Cubs picked him up but he didn't sustain it then, makes you wonder more if he can sustain it now either - or maybe it means he is closer to getting his act together? Time will tell soon enough.
  13. I probably watched 77 regular season games this year. Can't tell you how disappointed I am. And I don't see any adjustments being made.
  14. I would like to see Ron because he is a disruptor. He gets the rhythm into a transition game. Detroit isn't going to win in a half court game. In half court the lane is clogged with a bigger Orlando team which blocks Cade and Duren.
  15. Sasser would be playing if he was anything, but it can be argued he's no worse than the team's second-best shooter from three. Exactly, what do you have to lose? Maybe he pops in three in four shots during a 12-2 run sometime in the early second quarter if you throw him in there. If he misses three straight shots and turns the ball over a couple of times instead, so? We've seen that anyway.
  16. Maybe Cade isn't really back to being Cade yet? That was always the possibility
  17. I would probably give Sasser minutes before Ron. They just held Orlando to 33% from the floor and didn't let them break 100. In today's game that is great defense. Ron pretty much only brings defense to the table. They need someone who can hit a shot. I don't like Sasser and think he is pretty bad. But Jenkins has been awful so giving Sasser some of his minutes won't hurt anything. Maybe he knocks in a couple of threes and loosens up the Magic defense a bit. Odds are Sasser will also be terrible. But give it a shot.
  18. that kind of change at that age is pretty unusual. Among possibilities could be: unusually long streak of BaBIP luck He shortened his approach enough to give himself more time and made it work He got stronger and his bat speed increased and that's given him more time or he just has more ability to put the bat where he wants it. combinaton of 2 & 3 Combination of 1, 2 & 3. He's gotten somewhat better but not as good as he looks now.
  19. The last two games went down to the wire despite that but, yeah, Orlando has clearly been the better team.
  20. Right now, you have to play him at least a few rotations. What do you have to lose? The Pistons have lost with everyone else.
  21. 20 turnovers, 20 turnovers, 20 turnovers. AUGH.
  22. Need to check what the Pistons did the final one or two minutes of each quarter. It seemed they just got zapped at the end of every quarter. I'd think, Iet's at least keep the lead, keep it within 2 or something like that and each time it seemed it never happened. I'll have to check on that one.
  23. They wanted Protcor and would have taken him at 14. There was never any risk of Miller going before 17 so moving up for him was not necessary.
  24. Cade had 2 points and 0 assists in the 4th quarter tonight.
