  2. Theoretically, I’m not opposed to the idea of moving the mound back measurably, like a couple of feet or so, to provide extra time for the batter to react to the balls, although there would be a bunch of consequences to reckon with. One of the big consequences would occur when a pitcher moves up from a 60’ 6” league to a 62’ or 63’ league. Besides the extra strain that gets put on a pitcher’s arm as they try to make up the difference without losing their velocity (because pitchers are human and they’re going inherently to want to preserve that as is), they would also have to rework their entire repertoire of pitches to go 62’ or 63’ instead of 60’ 6”, and there are going to be casualties along the way, both in health and career terms. Also, that would mean all the minor league teams would have to move their mounds back, as well all the independent pro teams that feed players into the systems, and probably all the college teams as well. Elite high school teams in California and the south, which feed pitchers into organized ball, would feel pressured to move their mounds back, too, which might force entire state high school athletic associations to mandate the move, which would cost taxpayer money. And if the Asian leagues don’t comply as well, that would reduce the amount of pitchers that could step right into a rotation or bullpen and contribute to a big league team. So all the mounds in Japan all the way down to the high school level (and HS ball is HUGE in Japan) might well have to make that move. There are probably other consequences as well, but that’s one big one that occurs to me.
  3. so reed outplays duren all series (all playoffs) but only sees the floor when the team is down 20. ausar has two bad plays in a row and sits for the rest of the half.
  4. He's just got this huge pile of whatever substance (adderal?) in front of him and his sister just eloped with his friend...he's got troubles because Sosa is angry he failed to kill the guy who testified at the UN. Or, He's got this cocktail of drugs administered to him in the bunker by his doctor to keep him going, and his field marshals keep telling him the war is going badly and so he needs to rail about his old political adversaries. Or, [insert some Hunter S. Thompson-esq ref to Nixon in the final days of Aug 1974] He's got nothing left to gild, destroy, or to make shabbier so he's got to go against Obama.
  5. stewart is hurt. has to be. he cant even jump. which is concerning because that's two years in a row when he's been hurt for the playoffs. maybe being undersized is causing it, but whatever it is, its not helping when it matters.
  6. that means they'll be rusty and lose game one.
  7. Little Caesars Arena - Detroit, MI Watch: ESPN
  8. If this goes 6 games the ECF's will probably start the 17th. 7 games and it will be the 19th. That is 7 or 9 days off for NY. That is pretty valuable rest even if it means a little rust in game 1. Well worth it.
  9. i think both these teams can beat the knicks.
  10. The raise the share price a couple cents each quarter people were not savvy investors in long-term plans.
  11. Neither of these teams could beat the New York team i saw that eliminated Philly.
  12. Probably twice as many turnovers...
  13. MAHA means culling the weak from the American society by allowing them to die from preventable diseases. Survival of the fittest. Meanwhile, MAGA means total discrimination and keeping the poor hungry. Eliminate the elderly, who soak up too many resources and are too expensive to support. And remove any foreign speaking people from our country unless they are wealthy enough to pay their own way.
  14. Today
  15. Duren has played 56 minutes combined the past two games. He has 6 total rebounds. A rebound every 9 minutes played for a center is crazy.
  16. This clip shows the difference between a coach building culture and a coach trying to win. When you are losing 50+ games a season, absolutely build confidence and give people a longer leash. But it's time to win, and you have to put your best lineup on the floor at all times in the playoffs. JB doesn't seem to understand that.
  17. Follow Gage and get to work men.
  18. If we could have traded 2 4ths and a 5th to get an additional 2nd I’m 100% in. Still could have overdrafted Moore and selected someone better than Rolder and Abney at 50.
  19. Undisclosed inappropriate text to female staffer
  20. Trash yet the Pistons will pay him $40m/yr because of good locker room vibes, only 23 years old or some other **** that we heard about Andre Drummond as well. Meanwhile Reed did more in 10 minutes or so in the last two games than Duren did the whole series. In any event, I felt whoever won this game will win the series and feel even stronger about that now. Cleveland just has the better personnel top to bottom even though they're a bit soft. It doesn't help that JB coaches playoff games as bad as Duren plays them and Stewart is like 20% of what he normally is for the second straight playoffs. It doesn't look good either way.
  21. That's the problem with so little shooting. JB feels he has to keep him in at all costs in hopes he eventually will provide some spacing.
  22. That extension is looking pretty stupid.
