Starting pitcher for the Nationals was throwing a no hitter but got hurt after 5 innings. They brought in a reliever and the announcers said he can warm up as long as he needs to. Not true, I saw last year that there actually is a limit on warmups for an injury replacement. I had never heard about a limit but there is one.

indiana has zubac now. if hali can play theyre going to be the best team in the east next year. pistons will be in the mix in the regular season because jb has them playing hard all season long. assuming they re-sign duren and do little else other than mess with the margins, the result is likely to be the same as this year as soon as they run up against a team with size. just like we all said all year long. the hope is that duren is still getting better. that could happen. its also just as likely that he is who he is at this point. but i definitely think ausar can get better. maybe not a lock down 3 point shooter, bit enough of a ball handler to take the heat off cade, and just enough of an outside threat to make teams take him seriously.

right now, the odds are MUCH higher that the wings finish last in the division than finish first. its a very depressing time to be a wings fan.
-
given how much better wings players get when they LEAVE detroit, maybe he doesnt need nhl coaching in detroit? regardless, i suspect he will be with the wings next year in a backup role. i think that was always the plan. however, i dont think gaudy ahl goalie stats translate to the nhl. but its better than being average in the ahl, like say...nate danielson.

Interesting move... More in the link. But the law includes all businesses in Hawaii, but includes out of state companies as well. It doesn't restrict free speech Then this,,,

Especially with how of some of these divisions are shaping up and a possible work stoppage after this season. There’s a lot of teams that aren’t where they want to be and a cy young level ace would be a massive boost. -

I'm sure the Pacers will be a playoff team with Carlisle at the helm, but Turner's offensive ability was a big part of their success. Also Haliburton has a long way to go to get back in shape. I wouldn't put them in a tier above the Pistons. Boston was already the #2 seed and got bounced in round 1. They were already in the playoffs, so no change there. Giannis coming back and going to Miami could add a new team to the playoff mix. It's not like the Pistons were the 7th seed, so we don't have to worry about a couple new playoff teams coming in and pushing us out the bottom. They'll be in the playoffs again and probably for the next several years as long as Cade and Ausar are here.

I'm aligned with what Bryce said on Duren. The most he's comfortable with offering is around 28M. That's where I'm at as well. It's also what Allen makes and he outplayed Duren. Now, he also said he thinks they'll wind up paying more that that, which is probably also true (sadly). End of the day, I'm not going over 30M. If he wants more he needs to find a sign and trade. Of course, I expect that Sam is right and the team will sign him for somewhere between 35-40M because they feel like they have to.

Time will tell, but we differ there. I think Skubal draws 2 gold plated prospects. -

I feel like they're close to competing, they just need to reset the team a bit. I think they need some players that irritate you if they're on an opposing team. Jahmai Jones and Wenceel Perez get under no one's skin nor do they motivate their teammates. We need an edge. -

I will get interested as it gets closer to the deadline, but right now it's depressing to think about. I am Tired of the Tigers being so bad that they have to sell at the deadline. -

1982 was interesting, because they had a winning record that year. They were tied for first before they collapsed in June. -
Trade deadline is August 3. They have a couple months to turn it around. If not it should be a very active and interesting deadline. The odds Skubal gets dealt are going up by the game.

the argument going into the season was that if you had a chance to win, keeping him through the season would be worth more than any likely return. So the part about the return not being great hasn't changed, what's changing rapidly is his potential value to a team that isn't going anywhere. How good does the return have to be to be more valuable than the difference between finishing 4 and 5th? Chasfh is correct you can't really do anything until he is pitching again, but that could still be substantially before the deadline. -
mistake was probably made years ago when they decided to have one super fund instead of breaking things up by municipality or district where each fund could be judged against its peers. Now trying to reform it is a too big to fail situation.

That's more stupid than violent. It amazes me that so many people will think that's funny.
