There are lots of weak parts to the US team. i would put central defense at the top of the list if Richard can't play. i would also say this doesnt seem to be a vintage US keeper class. there are no Friedels or Howards, or even Kellers here anymore. I was encouraged by the Germany performance even though they lost and the Senegal performance. Pulicic played well in both games and he's the key to their offense. we'll see if paraguay does the usual south american thing and beats the living **** out of him all game. US is playing at home and should advance. after that its a crap shoot depending on matchups. they have a decent squad, but ultimately not the type of talent that would trouble the better sides in the world.

Acadia is no joke. We took a boat ride from one of the local towns to Bar Harbor that was hilarious because it combined some of the most lovely natural scenery on the planet with some guy behind me telling another guy about the drug treatment centers he worked at in Portland and all the horrors of that life. You definitely need to visit-the coast and Acadia National Park are absolutely beautiful. But yeah-I figure it's Maine's choice and not mine. I can think of at least one time when I resented outsiders coming into my state to influence an election for the Senate.

A good portion of the new HBO documentary on the team revolves around Turner’s struggles and Freese’s inability to completely separate himself. I agree the defense isn’t exceptional which makes it even more important to have a keeper that’s not meh.

jones has been as a big a case of the team being stubborn as any. if he had any track record before last season it might be one thing, but he’s racked up a full negative WAR just as a PH, which ain’t easy to do in 1/3 of a season. You caught a little lightning in a bottle last season. bank it and move on. you platoon because numbers support it. when they don’t what are you even doing?
