Shocking—in that this is a rare case of Republicans engaging in repugnant and quasi-illegal political behavior that they did not accuse the Democrats of doing to them first.

The possibility of trading Gibson crossed my mind. But on second thought, the trade value for Cossa is almost certainly going to be higher than the price we paid for Gibson and that we could get for him. Also, I think it would be a bad signal to the team to trade away Gibson, who was such a security blanket for the team. If the front office wants to demonstrate that it is aiming for the playoffs, I don’t think you can trade away the reliable veteran who nearly dragged the team there last season.

It could be argued it's not a lie at all, because it is not a salary that he is taking.

I think we agree more than this exchange might suggest. My core point has never been that the left is blameless. It's that there's a meaningful difference between a party feeling electoral pressure on Israel policy versus a party being captured by antisemitic ideology. The former is happening with Democrats more so in recent times. The latter is what's happening on the right, and the two aren't comparable in scope or depth. That's my core point. I'll note here that your hope that a new Israeli government brings Democrats back does suggest that the break between the two, at the governing party level at least, is really about policy, not prejudice, and that's a distinction I've been wanting to draw all along.

Some of the political coverage coming out of CA is predictably silly. Porter pilloried because she yelled at a staffer, Steve Hilton's biggest coverage seems to be about the definition of a 'street Taco'.

There is actually a decent chance Democrats win control of the House in Texas. If they can also win governor, they can look to undo the Texas gerrymander.

Maybe the good thing about the team faltering is that there may be no real incentive to sell off our position players in the minors to get whatever it is the club thinks it needs with the hopes of “competing now.” Competing now may become an unsupportable conceit and the club, either through design or circumstance or whatever, doesn’t seem to make big moves anyway that would make giving up on the future a realistic choice. -
Rob, I was at a game a couple of weeks ago, and parked in the z-parking garage using that app. It was quite a long walk, both to the game and from. It cost 15.90, but a better deal might have been right off Madison, where they are now accepting credit cards, and it cost 20 bucks that night.

But he isn’t “taking a salary” Probably another lie the Right is telling the American populace

Trump Sr and DJT were both actively involved in Redlining. Refusing to sell to people of color. If they did they’d jack up the prices.

Side note— it’s kind of telling about the depth of the organization when we have Javy and Torres go down, and the two guys to replace them are Zach Short and Gage Workman—guys this organization had given up on years ago. If we need another outfielder soon are we going to trade for Derek Hill? -
You got what I was saying. Whoever they choose as the goalie of the future, we won’t know the results for a number of years. I think it’s probably a good idea to give one of the kids a legit shot next year.

That was very kind of you to just react to my madness 😂

True. As recently as the 70s/early 80s, people deemed undesirable were subtly and/or not so subtly encouraged to not move into certain neighborhoods. At least that was true in Boston.

I didn't say it was a crapshoot. Clark has a much better chance of succeeding than Workman or Jung or Hao Yu Lee. It's silly to even talk about that. However, I don't expect him to contribute much in the near future and there is no guarantee of future stardom, much like Torkelson, Greene and Mize when they were coming up. MLB is hard. I think it's unlikely that he becomes a below replacement bust too. In fact, my expectations are close to the ones you mentioned. The range of possible outcomes is wide though. Don't forget Jobe was universally regarded as one of the top couple of pitching prospects as recently as last year. So, he's not a lot different from Clark in that respect. How do you view Olson and Jobe? -
I’ve never had that problem. Just avoid those closest. The ones I mention above are usually stress free. Depending on where you come from.

Similar. If traffic looks to be backing up near 96 I either get off at Warren and that to grand river or will try to hit the grand river exit, which was closed a long time. Heading down grand river if you stay in the right you avoid the line of people, who for whatever reason but I’m glad they do, try to turn onto the 75 service drive. It looks like a backup but you fly right by. Then turn down Elizabeth near the new UM school. My lots are either 2130 or 2055 Cass. 2055 is better I thjnk because a right turn exiting takes me to Michigan and I take that back to Trumbull to get back to 96 to 94, avoiding the traffic at grand river and 75. if there’s a ton of people or an event at Ford Field then I pick a lot by LCA. For wings games I usually park in the structure if I’m fortunate to get a suite pass, if not then of those same lots and walk it.

Reese is why Avila took so many 6' 4" pitchers. My biggest worry when they took Jobe what that with a guy who spun his breaking ball that hard you might as well block out the lost year for the TJ surgery in advance. If he comes back from TJ spinning the ball just as hard, I'd guess he can be effective but the arm will always be a time bomb.
