Just because it may have been a bad move doesn't mean it was a dick move. The manager's job is to help his team win games, not worry about an opponent's milestone. Besides, It's not like it's the last game of the year at the end of his contract. He's got two years to reach 3,000 hits! Tigers fans get to watch another fun game tomorrow. As Sportsfreak mentioned earlier, I bet Ilitch is thrilled that the he didn't reach 3,000 today.4 points

Even the cartoon is a one-sided “conversation.” Interesting that you see yourself in this picture, sir.3 points

They're being too 'effin nice. Don't go to the evidence and let her recant in real time, let her reiterate her lies then indict her asz when her testimony is over.2 points

Watch Miggy get a hit in his first AB and everyone celebrates only for the game to get called shortly after so the hit doesn't end up counting.2 points

Wacky game in Toledo. Zach Short (1st inning) and Daz Cameron (2nd inning) get rung up on 3rd strikes via pitch clock infractions (which I need to trademark as stalled 3rd strikes). Then a called check swing strike gets hitting coach Adam Mellhuse and manager Lloyd McClendon tossed. The batter after that is awarded 1st due to catcher's interference. And Joey Wentz is pitching right handed. (OK, that last part might be false).2 points

I remember Kaline's 3000th hit in Baltimore. All Detroit hits. Yeah, always Mr. Tiger.2 points

If Miggy had 2824 or 3014 hits would Boone have walked him? I say yes. Therefore it’s an ok move. You don’t manage to personal accomplishments. Especially the opposition.2 points

He’s going to play until he gets his hit. glad I get to get stuff done before the game tomorrow. Was halfway down there when a friend called me. But I prepaid parking. Only $8. My son and I are now at Downey Brewing so not a total loss I guess. But now I gotta hope for another 0-fer. Not bitter about the game time. You can’t change it up on people who bought tickets for tomorrow afternoon originally.1 point

I actually had a thought about Grossman, Cabrera/Meadows, and Meadows/Cabrera at the top of the lineup. Grossman is still getting on base via walk, although he is really pulling the ball early on (53% vs career 29%). And, sure, move Torkelson up higher, because he seems to be doing well enough after his 0fer. What do you do with Reyes? He's been one of the more productive bats, but, come on, its Victor Reyes, we've seen this act before, right? Or have the mechanical changes done him a favor? Heck, I'll go with it. Grossman, 9 Cabrera, DH Meadows, 7 Torkelson, 3 Candelario, 5 Reyes. 8 Haase, 2 Castro, 6 Schoop, 41 point

Parents and Grandparents are the lifesavers in this one. Most are still cable dependent and have never even downloaded the Bally mobile app. Get their online login for their cable account (you may have to set it up for them) and enter it in to your Bally app on phone and tv. Voila. You are in business. Don’t need to be on their network or specific cable company Wi-Fi. Doesn’t cost them anything since this a free service they never knew existed.1 point

I'm thankful for Jordan Poole hitting the shot to send UM to the sweet sixteen but boy now that he isn't on a team that I root for I realize how punchable looking he is. With that said he has transformed himself into a good player albeit with a punchable face.1 point

I agree with this, although I think the high IQ baseball people who are complaining about the boos need to be realistic about who buys tickets and attends games... it's not all a bunch of avid baseball watchers like on this board, it's the general public who paid good money to see Miggy get chances to hit. Not everyone is thinking about the minutiae or strategy In other words, it may be the right baseball move, but it's not should not be shocking or surprising that it elicited a lot of boos and heckling from the crowd either. And I dont have a problem with it1 point

Given the strength of their bullpen so far, they haven't missed Chafin/Funkhouser/Cisnero too much.1 point

I haven't been paying much attention but I just looked up in time to see Bert score an absolutely sweet (but kinda dumb) goal haha . Amazing.1 point

Hold on now, @chasfh, it was a lefty pitching. He's got Ls all over his damn name. Hell, Luetge rhymes with LOOGY for crying out loud. It was the absolute correct move to walk Cabrera and pitch to Meadows. To criticize it, especially for anyone so sabermetrically inclined, is absolute malarkey. And to cry about robbing the crowd of a chance at 3,000,..... seriously? Go pound sand with your left hand. And while we're on the topic of left hands, this is good stuff:1 point

Boone was completely correct. But if you are at the ballpark and don't boo the opposing manager for that you should lose your ticket buying privileges. That's what you are there to do.1 point
