  1. I have come to the conclusion that the great replacement theory is all relatively sane people are being replaced by blathering idiots. I blame cell phones

  2. It's probably the worst thread of the new board.

  3. This is a stupid, asinine thread.

  4. yeah I agree! The other thing that can happen is that the demand quickly outpace the manufacturing capacity when something goes from limited use for specific conditions to millions of people hording it. I recall reading stories about how that happened with hydroxychlorocine or whatever it's called. Apparently that did cause some severe shortages for I believe Lupus patients. I'm in the "highly skeptical it works for covid" camp but also in the "take whatever drugs you want" camp so in some ways I'm like "do whatever you want champ on this one" but it is bad when folks like Lupus patients can't get what they need.

  5. The reason the Ivermectin thing took off among the right wing kooks is because they needed something to stand out and be noticed. The whole dogma of that world is to be a victim and pretend you know the real truth and everybody else is lying. They are the modern day flat earthers. The more you speak out against them the firmer their stand is. It's a world of grifters and they have the gullible roped in.

  9. I also wouldn't call charging higher prices for new drugs a strength. Capitalism works well for most things, but not so much in the health sector.

  10. I saw Grant was trending last night so I clicked on his name to see what was up and all the commotion was about a trade proposal a Thunder blogger came up with. He suggested that if the Thunder are serious about wanting to trade up from 12 that they could package 12 and Dort to Portland for number 7 and then Portland could trade the 12th pick for Grant. Id of course rather just trade straight up with the Blazers for the 7th pick but if this is the only way to facilitate a move with them Id settle for 12. In this scenario the Blazers would get Dort and Grant for the 7th pick instead of just Grant if they went straight through us.

  11. IDK if hitting is contagious. - could be. If I had to guess it would be that the effect is more in on the pitching side. It's more strain to pitch with men constantly on base, from the stretch, etc., so once some guys start getting on base maybe it gets a little easier for the rest.

  12. IIRC a lefty from TB (McClanahan?) was doing the same thing on the 3b side. It gets your release point closer to the mid line of the field so the theory would be it cuts down the advantage to the opposite side batter.

  14. You know why, right? They want to start producing and selling their sythesized version of it..........which would be a prescription..........and likely an extremely expensive one. That's not a conspiracy, that's fact, they started researching Kratom for this when the opioid crisis started.

  21. Anyone here do much hybrid or finger picking? I was reading guitar player article about some country riffs and one (or more of them) were using hybrid picking so I learned how to do the picking specifically for that riff and used that picking strategy on a recent studio opportunity. I liked it so much I found another article solely about hybrid picking with a bunch of exercises to basically get you going (quickly they say): https://www.guitarworld.com/magazine/depth-guide-hybrid-picking-will-have-you-playing-pro-no-time-all I'm starting at the very begging, and some of them I could do pretty quickly but others I've had to work on. I'm working systematically on it, 2 mins for each one w/ a metronome that increase by 5bpm every day as long as I didn't suck at it the day before. It's pretty neat empirically seeing improvement every day. I think this is going to be one of the more consequential things I learn in guitar playing. Not CAGED or Minor Pentatonic box patterns level important, but important nonetheless.

  22. awesome! I like that burst, and that's saying something b/c I don't really like bursts but I do like cherry bursts & similar. I tried to zoom in on the headstock but still couldn't read it clearly, what is it?

  23. Like I said, I take it every day and it is a caffeine-like buzz that deadens pain, but it does not enlarge your pupils, but fulminated mercury does not explode (Mythbusters did a Breaking Bad special), so they could take a few liberties. The Burt Wonderstone movie got Kratom completely wrong.

  24. I'll just put this here. A tornado ripped through Gaylord today. I know this town well as my parents had a place there and my brother lived there for a brief period of time.
