Well, keep in mind that Hock played 47 games with the Lions vs. Ebron's 56. So, on a per game basis: Ebron: Yards: 37 Receptions: 3.32 TDs: 0.2 Hock: Yards: 44 Receptions: 4.23 TDs: 0.32 Now, while those are better numbers, they are phenomenally better. Which makes me think the trade was a better idea.1 point

Yes I agree that term limits in MI hasn’t been good. It takes good people out of jobs under the guise of the preventing the generational incumbent. But those those people know the system. Right now there’s no accountability because even if they do a fine job they are done. It’s about lining up their next gig. By opening it up you invite more kooks to sneak in. we have the mechanism to vote people out and of voters won’t do that then they deserve what they get. But don’t prevent quality people that people want from serving because of populism.1 point

Oregon can be the test for future scheduling. They opened against Georgia and got crushed and then destroyed everyone else on their schedule including another OOC against BYU. If they run the table and get left out then there is no reason for anyone to ever schedule hard again. As it stands now, had they scheduled Georgia State instead of Georgia, they would be ranked #3 with a guarantee to the playoff if they won the rest.1 point

Its a fine line between giving a GM/Coach too much rope or cutting them too early. Yeah the Lions haven't made the progress in the win/loss department like I hoped but unlike with Quinntricia I can see some positive things that Holmes/Campbell have brought to the table despite that. I believe Holmes knows what he is doing and while Campbell has made some mistakes on the field that is only one part of being a HC and maybe the most insignificant part at that. Most on field decisions are based off of what the analytics tell you, sometime you look like a genius if those decisions work out other times you don't, but what you do away from Sunday and how players respect and want to play for you is 100% on the coach and it seems in that regard Campbell has it. I also respect the fact that he is willing to make changes and hold other coaches responsible by evidence of the Pleasant firing this year and Lynn firing last year. This isn't to say that both should be given a 5+ year leash but I think calling for their firing just 2 years in could be a bit premature no matter where we finish this season. Yes turnarounds can happen fast in the NFL but sometimes they do take a few years and I rather give the guys a chance to see their vision through before firing them and starting over half way through.1 point

HIPAA would not apply to the Lions as an employer in this context. It's for "covered entities", which is primarily healthcare settings and insurance companies. The hospital the baby was born at couldn't tell the press "Penei Sewell's son was born!", but the Lions could tell the media, or pass a card around the locker room for him, or whatever. I think more likely is that "personal" is just the only drop down box available to the team when completing the practice report that's not injury related and all the reporters close to the Lions knew already and didn't think it was news or tweet worthy. There is certainly a personal nature to child birth, and he may have wanted family and friends to know before us.1 point
