  1. The difference between 60 and 140 generally isn't that big, let alone a few spots.

  2. Jung 86, Flores 87, Jobe 91, Keith 98 In the grand scheme of things, despite the difference between BA and BP lists, it's possible the lists may not even be that different and Flores/Jung/Keith might be just outside of BA's list. Part of why it is pointless to get hung up on the total within the Top 100 of any list... if a prospect is ranked 99 and another is ranked 104, is the difference really that big?

  3. Richardson was playing with an undermanned team in the SEC with receivers who couldn't get any separation. Very few college qbs can complete passes at a high rate when their receivers can't get open. Fields played with NFL quality receivers in a lesser conference who gave him a broad side of a barn type window to hit which explains the disparity in completion percentage.

  4. I don't know if it was well reported, but in the media gathering Harris had to discuss the new dimensions, he had some lines that really impressed me. He reminded the media that park effects are prone to randomness and take a while to stabilize. Somebody asked about a three year window if that was appropriate, to which Harris said usually not that long, depends on the amount of balls in play. He also said they now have access to weather data to help parse data and evaluate the park factors. I have to think that data is being used to evaluate players and parse stat lines too. Music to my ears.

  5. Having said that, Crosby possessed an amazing talent and was probably right about Manzarek from a musician's standpoint, but what matters to me is what my ears enjoy. My ears would be lacking for nothing if I never heard the Doors again but I think Riders on the Storm is an absolute masterpiece and the rain in the background is what makes it so.

  8. Of all the lies, mis-leading statements, accusations of theft and fraud - both here and in Brazil, ….. why is it that the story of the theft of the “GoFundMe” $$$ set up for that homeless veteran’s therapy dog’s cancer care…. Why is this the story that makes me want to rip his arms off and beat him with the bloody stumps? I honestly don’t understand how his constituents can’t start a petition to recall him. After all, I think we could probably see and understand how they would be willing to acknowledge that the man they pull the lever for it’s not the man is sitting in that seat in Congress at the moment. That man doesn’t exist, and was just a lie built upon a lie built upon a lie. Could we call him as an actor in bad faith. Might as well not wait for the actual law to be investigated as far as his perpetrations of fraud, that he may have enacted go. That would take too long. I say as a constituent, they should be able to haul his ass back from Washington.

  11. This has come up before and there has never been enough ownership support to make it happen or even put it to a vote. I’m sure some NFL leaders are hoping to see Bills/Chiefs in Atlanta as a test run. I think it’s a really dumb idea. While I’m sure they would do something where AFC stadiums host the NFCCG and NFC hosts the AFCCG, it would be a huge disadvantage to outdoor stadium and cold weather teams, who would rarely if ever be chosen to host or have a close championship game. We would see the same rotation of stadiums as we see for the Super Bowl and CFP... Atlanta, Miami, Glendale, New Orleans, LA, Dallas, wash-rinse-repeat. Maybe a new dome stadium once a decade. It also disincentivizes good teams winning late regular season games, where clinching home field advantage doesn’t mean nearly as much. Imagine a (1) Lions v. (3) Cowboys Conference Championship, played in Houston. Totally where this would go. Even if you follow the money (ultimately what will decide this either way), I’m sure those warm weather stadiums would have no problem making more money, but it’s reallocation of money that other teams would make (who frankly earned it) not “new” money being generated like when they started moving the Draft around. Ultimately, for a combination of these reasons (but mostly money), I don’t think 24 team owners would approve this anytime soon.

  12. Yes. Hoping All-Star break. If he shows anything at Toledo, he’ll get the chance.

  13. I won't stand for Woodbery slander. He ALWAYS bounces stuff off of me before reporting on things like options and roster minutiae. He stands out in that regard over a McCosky.

  15. that's what i was thinking too. the problem is - like you said - using a #1 pick on that guy. you only do it if you think he's the second coming of josh allen. i think that's probably unlikely so i dont think they do it that said, i think it isnt the "same ol lions" to take him. if this regime took him, i think it would be with a specific plan in place for him this year and in the future. this isnt watne fontes taking andre ware because of his super high college numbers in a rigged system, it would be a thought out process to use richardson's skills to benefit the team's offense next year and in the future.

  16. Much of this debate has to do with what percentage someone puts on Goff having another year like he had this year. I’m definitely over 50% but I want to see another year to put me in that range where I’m really confident that he’s the QB for the long term. I don’t see it as a big deal if others aren’t sold yet. He’s under what has now become a really nice contract for next year based on his potential production. Let him do it again for another year and then we can extend him and anoint him QB of the future. Drafting a QB now or not, doesn’t change any of that.

  18. There is no mechanism to recall a member of Congress at the state level. The House could have refused to seat him - if there had been anything like leadership present there interested in preserving the integrity of the institution. ...OK - I did laugh as I typed those last 4 words.

  19. Richardson is the Malik Willis of this draft except he played in the SEC. It would be same old Lions to draft a QB based on a skills competition. A college QB who completed 53% of his passes. Draft him at 18 but you're not replacing Goff.

  21. The other side of the coin is that there is plenty of the same bilge (both in Washington and on corners of the internet) aimed at blue counties and blue constituencies. Nothing makes me roll my eyes harder than that Yale educated blowhard, Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri, talk about how state school students from Middle America (like myself) are everything that's wrong with America. You literally go to a state school, get a STEM education and become a tax paying American, only to have pricks like him or Ted Cruz (Harvard) or Tom Cotton (also Harvard) talk about how terrible you are. No wonder the GOP struggles with younger college educated voters lol. Nonetheless, that is no better, yet the same folks who (justifiably imo) don't appreciate stereotypes about red places? Sure as ****, they don't have any issues rolling past those comments either. I get it, I don't like the stereotypes either. But it'd be nice if the people who complained the loudest would recognize the symmetry and not just make it out to be the provenance of just one side.

  22. I have been coming across a lot of Babcock videos recently (probably from watching this one). Wow, he is really, really hated. Players saying he's a hard working coach but one of the worst human beings. I don't see him getting another gig.

  25. Cosign, and would just add that the crowds tend not to swim against the tide at these meetings. Even aside from council meetings, having family who live in a nearby county that gave Trump over 75% of the vote in '16 and '20 who dont agree with the prevailing view, there is a tendency to just avoid politics altogether. At the end of the day, you have to get along with your neighbors. And swimming against the tide tends to hinder that effort.

  27. Voting in Elko County runs about 75-25 R-D I covered Board of Supervisors/City Council, School Board Meetings way back when both parties were not completely crazy. The vast majority of the people who show up and speak are partisan one way or the other. And you could usually count on the same rabble rousers, for lack of a better term, to show up everytime. https://silverstateelection.nv.gov/county-results/elko.shtml https://www.nvsos.gov/SOSelectionPages/results/2020StateWideGeneral/Elko.aspx

  28. The Saints went from 1967 to 1987 without a winning season, and it took until 2000 until they had a division championship and a playoff win. Since 2009 though, they've made the playoffs 8 times, won their division 6 times, and won the Super Bowl once. People in their 20s and younger don't even remember how awful they used to be and think of them as a successful franchise. The historical ineptitude for their older fans has turned into "I was a fan all the way back when..." reminiscing more than depression inducing drinking stories. Though I'm sure they'd appreciate another Super Bowl in their lifetimes. Would be nice to go in that direction.

  32. Didn't don't understand why they need to use REAL weapons in a movie set. Even replicas can be really dangerous (Jon Erik Hexum sadly learned that) But, for an example............The Statue Of Liberty has been blown up, frozen over, toppled by giant waves, usually in movies produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, but they never actually had to do any of it to the actual Statue Of Liberty. If you can do all that shit to Ms. Columbia, you can add muzzle flashes and bangs in post production. It's common sense.

  33. I hope Meadows can perform well in 2023 because this trade is grand larceny year to date. And I wager Parades will do well. He is exactly the type of player Harris is targeting and Al traded him with a High Draft Pick for a player in decline at escalating cost.
