  1. My cat, Sam, likes to hang off of the arm rest of chairs, and he always reminds me of a guy sitting st a bar, ordering a scotch rocks. 😁

  3. One of our cats loves laying all stretched out wherever she happens to be. She also likes being cradled like a baby and is content to just be carried around like that so she can see everything we’re doing. First pic is from when she was about six weeks old. She’s now 4 or 5.

  5. The only problem with this lawsuit is that it isn't big enough. Even with a treble punitive damage award it won't have the effect on Fox that is needed.

  6. Ha - well for sure tastes vary - DD's 8 DH lineups drove me slight crazy. The Tigers need to be better but DD's style is not the answer to me. His MO isn't sustainable in a mid-teir market where the money isn't infinite, otherwise he is going to mortgage away your team's future like he did here. I think of his tenure here as a period like a crack addition. It was a high, but it came with costs. I know I'm repeating myself but pro sports is all about owners lucking into hiring the right GM. Harris seems to be banking on being able to get some of the current players to do better while he puts his systems in place for finding new ones. As a general proposition that's an uphill battle, but I think he will end up being able to claim some apparent success, but not because anything he did worked on those current players, but just because some of them will regress back to their averages after having had sub average years last season. But we won't know if the player acquisition/development org he builds works for a while.

  8. Cable and Satellite companies could give subscribers the option to remove those networks in exchange for a $6 reduction in monthly fees. Why wouldn't they want to do that? They can "cut costs to the consumer". Fox would bitch but I don't see their argument making any kind of legal standing. If viewers want it they can pay. I'm surprised there hasn't been more a la carte options like that. If they pay a network $5 a month for example, but offer the consumer a $4 reduction to have that removed then the company is still making $1 month to cover overhead and "profit". If they just hack off most of the pass through cost then what's it hurt them?

  10. My views have changed greatly from this post. While the radical right in America wants to blame Jews for stealing all the gold, the Chinese feel very much the same way about Leprechauns. It’s one of the big reasons that St. Patrick’s Day is not celebrated in China and Colin Ferrell is no longer allowed in the country. Knowing this information, I believe the Chinese were trying to find a way to kill all the Leprechauns and that’s why they developed the virus in a lab in Wuhan. Unfortunately, as has been happening for centuries, humans continue to underestimate the amazing craftiness of the Leprechaun. The test subject the Chinese thought they caught was actually playing possum and ended up destroying the lab and in turn releasing the virus on the world. They should’ve followed the Ancient Chinese proverb. The more you fuck around with Leprechauns, the more you will find out.

  14. Just me spitballing but if you viewership depends on catering to the fringe maybe it's time to rethink your strategy. Fox News was credible when they first came on the air, but something happened around 2008, or possibly a bit before. With the rise of the Tea Party and the election of Obama they went from "Fair and Balanced" to "Unhinged and Deranged"

  18. Of course he's not going to duplicate what he did last season, he was pacing to be the all time sack leader, but I just think he should be accounted for when talking about key D-Line players for the Lions going into next season. You didn't even give him a mention in your post. Also, while I can understand being skeptical of him, he showed a wide array of pass rush moves that makes me think that he's not a fluke. It shouldn't deter the Lions from taking Anderson if he drops to 6 because BPA but Houston seems to be the real deal.

  19. I loved the Cabrera trade and could not believe they were able to pull it off. I was hoping they would build around him with young players, but it never happened. It was still a fun team because they were good, but it had an artificial feel to it and you knew they wouldn't be any good without the bloated payroll.

  20. hopefully between this game and the ridiculous amounts of assets teams are giving up for players, yzerman can fleece someone on bertuzzi. this game really showed me how far away they are. that said, tonight is a different night. hopefully they get refs who call an even game and penalize ottawa for some of their rough house tactics. im all for physical play, but when the wings are getting charging calls for the same things that ottawa is getting away with, and larkin gets a roughing call for having his glove touch a guy's face while debrincat is able to punch seider in the face with no call, it just isnt fair. they did their usual ref thing by evening out the calls after the game was already decided, but that was some of the biggest home cooking ive seen in a non-playoff game in a long time. i was disappointed lalonde didnt say something. you never want to use the refs as an excuse, but you also want to protect your team and have some gamesmanship setting them up for the next night so it doesnt happen again.

  22. You realize that at this point in DD's tenure (first full season) he named Louis Pujols as manager. The guy was famous for spending non game time in his office watching the Weather Channel. Look at the Tigers 2002 starting lineup and you find such stellar players as Chris Truby, Wendell Magee, Randall Simon and Shane Halter. It took Trading Dave a couple of seasons to get to 2006-2012. Yet you're shitting on a guy who got here after the season ended. I'm also old enough to remember when fans used to accuse Mike Illitch of caring more for the Wings and Tigers and the same things your saying about Chris could have bern said about your fagher. You sound like a bandwagon jumper who only remembers the few good years.

  23. A decent dinner here is going to run at least $25-40 an entree. We avoid the tourist traps mostly. There are a few close to the college and CW that we will frequent once in a while. But at the same time there is enough food for another meal most of the time. We joke that our biggest food expense is wine.

  24. When we were there last year for a show I remember it being a bit pricier but I'm on 'vacation' so I didn't care or even pay attention. I got tickets for the same band this year but they moved their residency to late march and early April. Then my wife says 'Maybe we shouldn't go, we're already going to Aruba', there's issues with taking care of our special needs son so she thought that was too much to ask. So I sold them. Then a few days later she's like "so that show... maybe....." Arrrgh! I really did like Chicago. Close enough to not be a big deal. Very nice city. Easy to get around.

  26. It's been a while since we've been there. Spent a couple years in the near north between 1999 and 2000. It was a temporary landing spot as my wife's duties at her job basically required a move downtown. Liked it a lot, close to almost everything except reasonable grocery store (we lived above the Whole Foods). If we had stuck around Chicago we would have probably headed farther north.

  32. I would agree with this... Character Concerns connote something far different than not being a gym rat. That said, these "workout concerns" (for lack of a better term) might be even a bigger negative for Campbell than "character concerns." IF it's true that he's not a heavy workout, always trying to improve kinds guy that might be a big red flag for Dan.

  33. or could it be amplified? Will he/won't he get off the pitch? There will be plenty of tensions it just won't wane becuse it lasted 90 seconds and i got bored. Nobody thinks NBA possessions would include more tensions or be amplified if we extend it to a 35 second shot clock. Why is baseball different?

  39. Their ultimate goal is to share ruling power with a single-party fascist Christian Congress at the behest of an iron-handed autocrat. Not Trump, but someone equally Trumpy but with brains. if they get far enough, at some point they will want to drive out the Court's remaining liberals, preferably in shame and ignominy by their definition, and get 9-0 unanimity. I don't know if they'll get it, but that's what at least five of them would like to see.
