If you’re going to go for it in 4th downs, you need to be start being more aggressive on those 3rd and shorts.2 points

Bought tickets this morning for the Erie/Richmond playoff game Tuesday night. It’s as close as Erie plays to our area. The Richmond team led all AA teams in attendance this year. Considering they play in an old and very outdated stadium, it’s quite a compliment to the organization and fans there.2 points

Sam LaPorta needs to be a bigger part of the offense going forward, and Gibbs needs to step up and be the game breaking weapon that Holmes promised he'd be when he passed on Jalen Carter.1 point

So far the Lions won a game they were supposed to lose, and lost a game they were supposed to win. Make what you will of it1 point

Now 20-0, it won't make up for the Lions loss but seeing the Giants get smoked by the Cardinals sure would go along way to making me feel better about this football Sunday. God do I hate them!1 point

Two dingers for Jake Rogers today. 19 on the season. It took a few seasons longer than we all hoped for, but we can finally declare that we won the Verlander trade.1 point

now its time to listen to some bears postgame shows to make me feel better.1 point

I'm 51 years old, i reserve the right to overreact to every lions loss! i have earned that right by sticking with this franchise for half a century of ineptitude and pain. lol. 😀1 point

They had no business being in a game where they had three turnovers, including one returned for a TD. That Montgomery fumble on the first play out of halftime was a disaster. Could have matched down the field and gone up two scores. Instead game was tied.1 point

Bad defense and poor execution is why most teams lose their games. I mean if you play good defense and execute well you generally aren't in position to lose the game.1 point

Well we can chalk up the Packers as pretenders since they lost to the Falcons today cause you're not allowed to lose games in the NFL anymore.1 point

Three turnovers. And they still almost won. Was alarming that they could not get to Smith with two starting OTs out. But Jerry Jacobs got picked on all day. Moseley can’t get here soon enough.1 point

I’m not all about overreaction city. But it’s just stupid mistakes that are costing them. Turn over the ball, lose football games. Easy as that. Pete Carroll had a phenomenal game plan but the Lions were the more talented team and still lost. Gotta square that damn quick.1 point

You have to fire Glenn after this week. He has had 2 plus years. He has never figured it out. He keeps getting worse.1 point

Glenn's overrated. I don't get all the love for this guy1 point

Have to feel some optimism about how the minors are ending. Malloy, Keith and Jung are knocking on the door after exceptional seasons. Bigbie, maybe too, but doesn’t have the same pedigree as the others, so will be interesting to see him next season at Toledo. Even Flores, Madden and Hurter have ended the season on a high note, along with Jobe. Encouraging way to enter the offseason.1 point

Dombrowski is the Billy Martin of GMs. He wins in the short-term, but destroys things long-term. Dombrowski is revered in Detroit, because that was the only time in the last four decades that the Tigers had a winning team. He is less liked in Boston because they were already a winning organization prior to DD.1 point

"With regularity" is probably a poor choice of words there, that's fair. But hitters do need to take advantage of the situations given to them. Its probably best to just add that skill to their tool belt and use it when available. If the 3B is back, drop a bunt down the line and beat it out. Once teams see that as a threat, the 3B isn't always back as much, and it opens up a bit more room for a ball to get through. Its the same thing that most folks have complained about the shift for years. The exaggerated shifts are because the data suggests hitters are "gripping and ripping". Show some more ability to go the opposite way, and defenses have to play more straight up. A batter using the whole field has more room to use than a hitter that is pull happy and uses only about half of the field. As far as the exact occasion for bunting is concerned, I'm all about using it to get on base when the situation is available. I understand using it to move a runner when only one run is needed.1 point

7 innings and 91 pitches for Skubal, back in the old days that had "complete game" written all over it. I feel like not everything from the old days is wrong by definition.1 point
-
No hitter should "rely" on bunting but an occasional bunt hit that catches the opponent by surprise is a good thing.1 point
-
Right, a batter's job is to help his team score runs. If bunting helps his team score runs, then he has done his job. Helping his opponent achieve goals should not be on his mind at all.1 point

Bunting to break up a no-no is never bush league, but especially not in the 4th inning of a 3-0 game.1 point
