BTW I think most of the big national lists are done with now and from what I can gather the Tigers have 7 different guys make atleast one of the top 100s with Clark,Jobe,Jung,Keith,Meadows, McGonigle and JHM plus Ty Madden came in at 107 on ESPN's list so right on the cusp. Having 8 different guys viewed that highly seems like the most we have had in decades cause even a few years when our system was rated as one of the best I believe it was more due to the top 4 or 5 guys and then a big drop off after that. A really impressive turnaround in just a year or 2 after Harris took over. The previous regime definitely deserves some credit since some of the player development improvements started under them but I think Harris and Co. took it to another level.2 points

My response to that has always been that if elections were easy to rig, Trump would have rigged it. That's a fact.2 points

what a great win. they really needed that considering what is coming up on the schedule. how good was that walman trade?1 point

Nice to see that NBC asked some actual professionals... I value their opinions a little more than Bret Stephens and Ross Douthat lol1 point

Whitaker and Trammell were two of the first players I followed closely from the lower minors all the way to the end. they both develped so beautifully. I thought it was always going to be like that! Still waiting for the next Tiger to do that. 😀1 point

They are great to have if you’re contending team at the trade deadline and are on the phone with Troy Weaver.1 point

It's interesting that the same law that compelled Mueller to not lodge personal attacks against the person he was investigating and not charging, *did* compel personal attacks against the person this jabroni was investigating and not charging The fact is, if it were a level playing field, the conversation starts and ends at the same DOJ memo regarding indicting a sitting president that Mueller cited.1 point

Supposedly we can't lay Williams at Weaver's door and the fact that they are not at least at 10-15% better team with Cade back to play with Ivey/Duren/Stew is inexcusable. If you add talent and it doesn't add wins, then your coaching is literally being counterproductive. Possibly his hands were tied "Play Hayes, we're trying to get something for him" etc., but there is no excuse the rest of the season. The need to be significantly better or Williams has to go as well, regardless of the sunk cost.1 point

I saw somebody mention that and I think the host was Keegan-Michael Kay, a Detroit native and Huge Lions fans(think he was on the sideline for all the playoff games). It probably felt good for him to use that joke since for years the Lions would usually be the ones on the butt end of a line like that.1 point

I don't care if I sound like an old curmudgeon but social media is horrible and is a plague on society.1 point

I think people also don't take into account the perniciousness and the pervasiveness of the internet and particularly social media. I have a friend who is a principal at a high school and the stories he tells me are horrifying. These kids just spin up new websites with new urls where they keep terrorizing other kids in the school, and part of his teams job is just following that around on the internet playing whack-a-mole. You can take your kid off social media (maybe?) and that's really hard in and of itself, but that doesn't make all of the social media go away and not impact their lives.1 point

One thing that I did find pretty ridiculous in that hearing though was the "discussion" about how if they allow Colorado to keep Trump off the ballot, the projected outcome is that "the presidency will be decided by a handful of states" I wonder if the justices are genuinely unaware of "the electoral college" and "status quo" or if they were being purposefully intellectually dishonest.1 point

One of the more underappreciated baseball players of the last 40-50 years imo.1 point

I mentioned it before but its crazy to me how the Tigers can never seem to find a prospect that projects to be a two way player. By two way player I mean atleast can hold his own at a position, not necessarily even being plus or anything. Outside of Greene every prospect we've had in the past say 15 years they've all seem to essentially be position less or destined to DH.1 point

Logic rears its ugly head again. 😊 You and I may see the reality of the situation but I promise you that Mark Davis doesn’t see this Raiders team as rebuilding. I bet he truly believes they are just a player or two away from the Super Bowl next year. He believes that haircut looks good too.1 point

On court development is important. But one of these guys developing into the team leader is also important.1 point

I like to think Tellum and Gores were responsible for past seasons and have now let Weaver do his job. Probably not but oh well.1 point

for all the justified weaver bashing, these types of trades are what they should have been doing last year instead of bringing in the likes of bagley, wiseman, and harris. getting rid of ancient vets with limited use and instead getting younger (except for fontecchio) shooters to surround your young core. spread the floor. everything we all asked them to do. the bagley/gallinari trade where you had to include two seconds to get off the bagley contract was another waste of resources. waiting too long to trade bogey and burks so you dont get at least a first round pick was another waste of resources. but finally getting shooting means....something? right? waiving killian so monty cant bench ivey or sasser is.....something? baby steps to proper roster management? maybe weaver has been kneecapped and tellum is making decisions now? maybe its someone else? cause these trade deadline day moves are almost the exact opposite of everything weaver has done to this point.1 point

I don’t remember the Yankees. I do remember Baltimore had interest in Whitaker and Cleveland had interest in Trammell. What a gut punch that could have been with the Tigers keystone combo split up to New York and Cleveland.0 points
