He didn’t do it! okay, he did it, but you can’t indict him! okay you can indict him, but you need to answer all these delaying tactics okay, we’re down to saying the timing and degree of friendship on the prosecution team matters. —— GUILTY2 points

I have a light, spring jacket someone bought me as a gift with that logo on it. It's still in the closet, never worn. 😅😅2 points

Corporate America, always a race to the bottom to squeeze every last nickel out of things so that our investments can make an extra 1/8 of a point. You'd think with the advertisements this wouldn't be an issue/2 points

I have strict instructions to never ever get me anything with this logo on it. Usually a family member will find something at a garage sale or something with it. In the trash it goes.2 points

I can't find the old thread discussing baseball cards so just tossing this out there: I was just watching Antique Road Show on PBS an hour ago when this older middle-aged woman (late 40's?) is showing some cards she inherited (from her father I think...). A collection of 1948 Leaf cards. The appraiser had some key cards up on a backboard (with felt brackets to hold the cards... no pins mind you...): Not just one but FOUR Ted Williams. In high end (looked ExMt to NrMt range to me) condition. Roughly $2,500 each or so. A table loaded with nice looking commons. One Honus Wagner card. For a joke he took the picture with him shoving chewing tobacco into his mouth. Nice condition, around $500. FOUR Joe DiMaggio's, same condition as the Williams and also around $2,500 each range. She had SIX Babe Ruth's from that set. Great condition, all of them. Around $3K per card. And the coup de grace? THREE Jackie Robinson 1948 Leaf rookie cards in excellent shape. $15-25K per card (depending on grading). I think I'm missing something else. I salivated.1 point

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think it's cool that my team has a PBP announcer with the credibility to be a national media figure like Benetti.1 point

OK, out of curiosity at this point, does this link have anything to do with the “14,000” deaths in Gaza that is being discussed? I’m rolling the dice here. It is a dated article. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/25/world/middleeast/israel-gaza-death-toll.html1 point

I know this is a joke, but his peripheral duties are pretty much limited to... College basketball on Fox/FS1 (Mostly Big Ten, Big East, Pac 12). He did do a women's game last week, but that is because Fox is really publicizing Caitlin Clark. They have put their top crews on some Iowa WBB games. Fox/FS1 national baseball coverage. Most Saturdays, shifting to Thursdays once football season rolls around. Fox college football coverage. Saturdays in September. Westwood 1 National Radio Coverage NCAA Tournament in March. So we likely get Dickerson on TV most Saturdays (Maybe Friday if it is a tough travel situation), and then toward the end of August on Thursdays and Saturdays. The Tigers have a few national games. May 6, FS1 vs. Guardians (not exclusive) May 20, FS1 vs. Royals (not exclusive) July 8, FS1 vs. Guardians (not exclusive) August 18, ESPN (Little League Classic vs. Yankees) Plus probably 2-4 Apple games. I believe the Peacock deal wasn't extended. I don't believe the weeknight FS1 games are exclusive, meaning they are available on BSD.1 point

The Ilitch family can be very vindictive. Rumors when Lary Sorensen left were that he made a joke about a family member. It was a sudden departure in the middle of the season. Later on when we learned about his alcohol issues it makes more sense, either he said something, or was just drunk all the time. But I could see a scenario where they didn't like his schtick, wasn't enough of a company guy. Jim Northrup was too critical of the team. Al Kaline would have survived as a color guy in today's world. He would get on the players a lot. They want their on air talent to sunshine and all about marketing and promotion.1 point

The reason it was logical to assume, or at least wonder about, racist intent is because of all the politicized kerfuffle involving statues during the last ten or so years. It's not as though it all came out of ... ahem ... left field.1 point

The world order established under NATO has pretty significantly benefitted America and Americans over the years. Not the least of which being that the one time Article 5 was invoked was for our benefit after 9/11. Trump is pretty clearly saying that he will not honor that same commitment if Russia, like they did in Ukraine, invades a NATO ally. NATO has also allowed us to sit at the head of the table and use "soft power" to work toward outcomes we want.... Trump's position would likely lead to that "soft power" being ceded to other nations (ie. China) Approximately zero American soldiers are being endangered on account of this war.... the debate is over providing economic aid to a nation so that Ukrainians can fight to maintain their independence. As much as the JD Vance/Mike Lee set feign concern for Ukranian deaths, their position is arrogant and denies the Ukrainians agency as, by all accounts, they were the wronged party in this conflict and aren't the ones that should be seen as needing to be brought to heel. No doubt all of these points maybe aren't as well communicated as they should be, particularly nearly two years into this conflict, but they are just basic facts. And on the point about "magnanimous" reasons, I think it's strange how the fact that their may be benefits to the United States just totally negates the idea that Ukraine may be benefitting from, you know, defending their nation from attack. When the alternative is being taken over by Russia, which is clearly an outcome that their government and a vast majority of their countrymen do not want.1 point

It appears like that might be a possibility. The thing with Keith that has been seen and mentioned on here before is that it seems like it takes him a bit to get his bat acclimated to a higher level of competition after promotion. So, given that history and given that he might still be working back that arm strength that he had before his shoulder injury, I'm hoping the Tigers give him rope at 2B this season. Work through the offensive growth this season, get the arm strong, and then he's a legit everyday bat next season.1 point

Maybe D. I don't know. But Benetti is a very ambitious person, and C is squarely within the realm of possibilities. I don't blame Reinsdorf for not being happy with his increasing absences. I think that might wear a little on Tigers fans after a couple years of it, too, and there will be griping about that. At least they have Dan Dickerson in reserve for those instances. I do like Benetti's work a lot, though, and I think he is a smart and engaging guy on air, and I'm also open to the idea that he can make Petry, Monroe, and Gibson better—although none of them appear to have the same arch, snarky sense of humor he has, and which Steve Stone could work well off of.1 point

I heard a player say that when you dress good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you play good. Which I think is pure BS. A terrible player isn't going to play good just because he has a new uniform.1 point

I'm going to by a snowbird place down there but it's still a backburner project for me at this point in time. Possibly towards the end of this year, or maybe next year...? My timing is obviously not set yet so... I will definitely keep you in mind at some future date for a beer. I drink Guinness. 😉0 points
