This is really really delightful, especially given the not very good day. I’ve been having.5 points

I really want the Tigers to win this more than most regular season games, because it seems like every kid there is pulling for the Yankees. I want those kids to go home disappointed.5 points

I'll be on the north side Tuesday and Thursday and on the south side Saturday! Then I'm coming into town for Red Sox-Tigers the following Friday. They're playing good, exciting ball with a good chunk of the future on the roster now, so, should be a good time to see them play!2 points

No because the goal of the protestors is to ensure Trump wins. The goalposts will change. They’re already talking arms embargo instead of ceasefire. They don’t want Israel to exist.2 points

In 15 games back from AAA and his break on the IL; Meadows is hitting .351/.373/.596 with 6SB while playing elite CF defense. He has a .409 BABIP so not sustainable but easy to dream on.2 points

A perverse pleasure disappointing thousands of people in attendance and millions watching the biased ESPN broadcast. Suck it, New York! Kids beat the mighty Yankees 2 outta 3.2 points

Good game considering it's established major leaguers against minor leagues trying to learn a new league.2 points

Like how they did with Marc Staal? Or getting reclamation projects like Fabbri, Walman, Bowey or Perlini?1 point

So the Tigers are going to spend eight days and seven nights in Chicago, first playing the Cubs and then the Sox. This will be almost like a home stand only on the road. Hoping they settle in on this off day, get dialed in, and play some memorable baseball in the city of broad shoulders.1 point

That should make for short rallies. His supporters should be out in time for the early bird special at Golden Corral1 point

Well, me for one. Honestly I'm not sure why you assume that most people have done this? It's frankly disturbing that you'd assume this. I'm a bit put out that you'd state something like this because when I did it, it was a domestic flight and therefore totally different.1 point

Sure, but what in either of their histories suggest they would do that? Especially Max. I think we are highly overrating how important coming back to Detroit would be for JV. He’s got World Series trophies and Kate Upton…..signing a cheap prove-it deal to make Tiger fans have warm fuzzy feelings inside probably isn’t high on this guys list anymore.1 point

If i were a person who made ridiculous analytic leaps, I would say Liz was in London to talk to Taylor about joining the campaign.1 point

If Tork is productive through the end of the season, they will be loath to give up their best RH bat. If he isn't, he won't net much on the market so if he is moved it would be as a throw in, he won't bring back enough to matter. If he is sort of so-so - 90-100 OPS+ then I think you have the highest prob they shop him.1 point

Wasn't there a year when the Tigers were awful that they went to NYC and swept the Yankees, like 1998 or something? EDIT: May 12-14, 20001 point

click the 3 dots on the tweet and choose 'embed post'. You will get dialog window with a URL in a box at the top that says "What would you like to embed?" then some choices lower on the page. I think the easiest thing is to ignore the stuff at the bottom, just copy the URL in the box under the question in the upper part of the dialog and paste it into your post. Do not choose "paste as plain text"1 point

they won 78 last season, they need to get to >90 to be competing for the playoffs. So call it 92 wins and a 14 game improvement. To accomplish half of that this season would require them to get to 85wins - which is conceivable, but not all that likely - they would have to play 600 the rest of the way. OTOH, if they were on track for the playoffs, Flaherty would still be here, so that would add 2-5 wins. The the other view would be that if they do at least win any number greater than last year after losing Olsen, Mize, trading Flaherty and having Lange turn into a pumpkin, then the line-up has gotten stronger and they could be poised to make up a lot of ground in 25. The irony is that while you can point to all the unexpected pitching loses, it's still runs scored where they are lagging by 50+ runs of being in the same class as the playoff teams, while despite the pitching losses, their runs allowed would be competitive in most divisions.1 point

He couldn't believe Cora would send him with no outs. Most coaches wouldn't have.1 point

Sweeney’s was a minor leaguer’s at bat. I can’t blame the kid. But going the other way twice plates a run and now for some free baseball!1 point

I was just telling someone, I would not be surprised to learn that not a single Little League player is rooting for the Tigers over the Yankees. Front-running little bastards. 😁1 point

The cutoff man had the ball before Jayce even hit 3rd base...that wasnt a good send at all, and it's not like it was a bang bang close play with Jayce half way to homeplate when the cutoff guy got the ball, he was dead to rights 30 feet in front of home plate...just admit it was a bad send by Cora, come on man1 point
