Openers and pitching chaos make a manager look like a genius until the pitcher gets punched in the face. Hinch is a great manager, but I think think they need to target pitching help as the deadline approaches. They may need offense too, but I think they can make a more significant unpgrade with pitchers.

There's exactly 0% chance, ±0, that the Pirates will sell Paul Skenes anytime this year. Their fans would revolt and show up at the ballpark and on the TV ratings even less than they do now.

Jen Pasaki had a great 5 minute group of clips from Trump’s first term, and this one, where he ALWAYS cites “2 weeks” as a time line for questions where he’s on the spot to answer the question “when”. He also uses that to deflect, knowing they’ll be other stories that will take the previous story’s place. however, I can’t really think of a previous time where the threat of bombing another nation or nuclear incident was the story that he’s answering the question with “I’ll give you an answer in two weeks”. He’s a bloody disaster. In so far over his head because now he has absolutely no competent cabinet members or advisors, nor would he listen to them if he did. He’s going to get your unfortunate sons (& daughters) killed.

The starting pitching is a huge concern. Is there anyone that is trustworthy other than Skubal. Mize is the 2nd best option.

I don't think it is based on anything evidence based like that, but rather how they think people will bet. I am really not sure how they do it, but the goal is not accuracy, but making money.

That was pretty slick. I enjoy those. There was one a few years ago, I think it was a pregame preparation for a college baseball team. The drone went all around the venue, the stadium, locker room, workout room, might have even went through a part of campus. It included players and personnel doing various activities. It was really cool.

Instead of trying to figure out different convoluted ways for QBs to "give up" -- none of which will solve the problem of QBs "giving up" after a defender has committed to the tackle, thus putting defenders at risk of being hit with personal fouls/ejections/fines -- just go with the simplest, most elegant solution: treat QBs the same as any other ball-carrier beyond the line of scrimmage. The slide is stupid, and the fewer calls that are discretionary, the better. Refs could've fixed this by simply falgging QBs who take advantage of the slide by starting it late, but they're never gonna do that. Top QBs will always get the benefit of the doubt, so just remove all doubt. You wanna run it? Are you sure you wanna run it?
