  1. Ugh….. Ibanez didn’t set his feet.
  2. Jake Burger seems aptly named. Jake Salad would not make much sense.
  3. Dusted him! Hat tip to Lorenzen. Hell of an effort today. Way to rebound from the last start.
  4. A double play would be lovely.
  5. I think Grandal is Lorenzen’s last hitter.
  6. Yup. Now with only a 2 run lead, does the bullpen start kicking in with warming up? Or do you wait a bit? Ugh, leadoff walk. Personally I’m thinking Foleyon alert for now.
  7. Crud. Bases drunk with one out and McKinstry can only manage a sac fly.
  8. Ibanez with a nice opposite field single to score Baddoo for the early lead.
  9. Missed opportunity to dig into the Chicago bullpen last night. Lynn had a very high pitch count last night and then rebounded a bit in the middle innings, some single digit pitch innings if I remember it correctly. Scholtens seems like he might be ripe for the Tigers’ recent OBP fueled by BB to take advantage of. The games count separately in the standings, but I like a series approach of digging into an opponent’s bullpen. Try to get them worked as much as possible early in a series so the options are slimmer in the final games of a series. Giolito didn’t last long in game 1. Lynn shouldn’t have lasted long in game 2. Now there’s a rookie in game 3 today. The lost opportunity yesterday affects today. And then Cease starts tomorrow’s game. Anywho, that’s one of the checkers strategies that I like.
  10. Yeah, it’d be nice if Alexander were a semblance of a fill in SP, but that just doesn’t seem plausible right now. I think Alexander’s last two outings were relief appearances in a Wentz start. The timing would work out, but swapping one for the other might not yield the short term results that they need. And I’m not sure there are long term concerns to worry too much about for either pitcher.
  11. It’s possible that he’s working on something behind the scenes but it’s just not game ready. And maybe the plan was to work on that in Toledo, but here we are with the pitching injuries. I don’t know, just speculation. Patience is probably the best course of action right now. There aren’t many other in house SP options right now anyway.

  13. Add a Reyes and some Castros to the mix and you’re almost there.
  14. He has. He also scooped that Ibanez throw to end the 7th (or 8th?) which was really impressive. It seems he is good at saving throws. It seems the pop up into foul territory where he has to backtrack a bit is an issue. I'll take that trade off. Saving throws is turning into outs or at least preventing extra bases. The foul pops, which some of the clanks have not necessarily been easy plays, fall as strikes with no action on the bases.

  17. Flashed some leather tonight, give him that much.
  18. Take a bow. You really spoke highly of the McKinstry pick up.
  19. If I’m getting the maths right, Short had more RBI last night than Schoop has had this season, right?
  20. … go right into some ChiSux’ mitt.
  21. They’ve got pennies to ride the kiddy horse.
  22. I read some articles about her last night. I didn't realize it at the time because I was just a stupid kid, but her solo work was pretty iconic given her past and how she was sharing that during those times. A lot of strength and power behind the sultry voice.
  23. It's damn tough to be optimistic with this team right now.
