I know that there are some people like that. In Ontario the most outrageous example of that was the elementary school teachers union pension plan, one of the best in the universe.
Just for some balance, my brother is 73 and works at Amazon, in the "fulfillment" area, not because he wants to of course. Something that a lot of us boomers have in common is that we lost our jobs in the mid-1990's when we were in our mid-40's. I certainly did. It was the first time that there was a computer on every desk, and huge tranches of administrative jobs disappeared along with layers of supervision. One of Kondratieff's waves I guess.
