  1. Speaking of Kuminga, I didn't bother to go down the rabbit hole to fact check but I saw some twitter headlines yesterday that said that he is now being measured at 7' after "only" being 6'7 when he was drafted. I know I grew a couple inches from the time I graduated High School till my 20th birthday so I know first hand it's not out of the realm of possibility to grow at that age but that would be a MAJOR late growth spurt.
  2. Years from now when a guy is hitting .140 people will say "Dude can't even hit above the Maton line(.150)."
  3. I think if you look up AAAA player in the dictionary Derek Hill would have his picture there.
  4. To me the MLB draft is the one draft where it makes the most sense to take BPA vs. need since it does usually take 3-4 years for these guys to come up here and make an impact and by then who knows what your team will look like and what needs you will have. Atleast in a sport like basketball or football the rookies tend to play right away so it may make more sense if you feel some guys are pretty even to take the guy where you know you have a hole at and can bring in and play right away.
  5. I think it's fair to blame Coaching/Management for not clearly communicating the rules to the players. Yes they shouldn't have to babysit these players and it should be the players responsibilities to know what is legal and what's not but lets face it that is pretty unrealistic in this day and age. The players aren't going to read through everything like they should so you would think management knowing the severity of the crime and punishment that will be handed out would be as clear as possible with the players so there isn't any mistakes.
  6. If we stay at 5 Im starting to lean towards Ausar as my favorite. First off I love how upside and think he would fit in well with Cade and Ivey. I also think that he can help the team from day 1 with his defense and even if the shot never pans out the defense and athleticism would still make him an asset for us.
  7. I heard some people speculate that Skenes should be ready by the ASB next year but I heard that story before ie Casey Mize.
  8. What about T mobile arena? That's where they hold all the UFC fights.
  9. If we trade back and get the multiple picks would anybody be interested in Lively or is he just not a fit here with Duren? Just wondering cause I seen a few stat based projections that has him being in the top 5.
  10. Watching what Aaron Hicks is doing in Baltimore and I really wish the Tigers would've scooped him up when the Yankees released him at the end of last month, he was available when Greene got injured but the Tigers opted to trade for Marisnick instead. Anyway Hicks has since posted close to a 1.000 OPS since the acquirement(posted an .869 in May for the Yanks as well) while Marisnick has posted a .514.
  11. I'm not going to go crazy if they pass on Langford for somebody like Clark but to my untrained eyes he seems to be the most safe bet in the draft including Crews. Crews has more upside cause it sounds like he should be able to handle CF but I think Langford's bat will be a safer bet than Crews(that's not to say his is unsafe just not as safe as Langford's).
  12. We are still banged up a little along with Miggy still needing rest days but it is surprising to me that Maton continues to play virtually every day. He seems like a prime candidate to give a few days off to but Hinch keeps running him out there. Idk he did the same for Ibanez in his 1-40 stretch and he eventually turned it around so perhaps he is banking Maton doing the same. Color me skeptical.
  13. Heard some speculation that the Pistons would be interested in him, guess you can forget about that now.
  14. Thats an awesome pic! I always love looking at the fans in these old pics.
  15. Yep I totally miss trades like that. Nowadays seemingly in all sports all trades are either prospects for vets or salary relief type trades.
  16. If **** is still there at 19 I'm doing what it takes to try to trade up for that pick.
  17. What always scares me about trading for other team's prospects is that they obviously know more about them than you do so considering how valuable they are to have on a big league roster you have to wonder if there is something that gives that team trepidation about the player. This thought process is more about when a team gives you a list of players to choose from and ones that are off limits. Like the rumors are the Astros told the Tigers that Whitley, Tucker and somebody else who's name forsakes me but we could have Perez. Like to me that would concern me but teams not just the Tigers will still do it and I think that's why they often end up on the losing end.
  18. That may be true but you never know who may drop, it seems like every year there are a few guys who drop to that range that you weren't expecting.
  19. Even Adduci thought he was going too heavy with his drinks.
  20. Luis Arraez currently 5-5 to push his BA to an even .400 on the year, amazing!
  21. Yeah I don't get it, earlier in the year when he was hitting for power despite the low average I understood it since A. nobody was hitting on the team and B. theoretically that power would be more useful with guys on base but since then the power has disappeared and some other guys have started hitting better.
  22. I'd actually like to see Miggy move up to 5th on days he is playing. He is starting to hit again but unfortunately many of it is with the bases empty, batting 5th would hopefully allow them to take advantage of his singles and doubles with runs.
  23. The Suns just become more unlikable for me every day!
