  1. He certainly seems ready looking at the stats and as fans we want to see the guys get moved up but it's not unusual what the Tigers are doing if you look at other organizations. There are plenty of top tier prospects playing at below AAA level despite having gaudy stats, maybe not as gaudy's as Keiths but still good enough where you would think they'd be at a higher level.
  2. Jobe pitched today in the FCL, 2 perfect innings with 4Ks. Haven't heard how the stuff looked though but cant ask for better start results wise.
  3. Yeah Orlando does seem like the likely fit but what if Monty really likes him and he uses his pull to sway the PIstons? I mean we were never really linked to him in the earlier stages then we hire Monty and suddenly this news comes out that he likely has a promise from a top 6 team. Just a coincidence I hope cause I'd rather have Whitmore or Hendricks.
  4. Speaking of the name Justice there's a student at my District with the name David Justice. I asked him if his Dad was a fan of the baseball player or something and the kid had no idea who he was or what I was talking about. lol
  5. All I can think about when I see his name is Dwight Schrute from The Office when he asked "Who's Justice Beaver?" in reference to somebody bringing up Justin Bieber.
  6. Yeah the offense looks alot different when you got a few guys like Tork, Vierling and Miggy hitting along with actually getting the clutch extra base hits when you get the guys on base.
  7. I like Vierling, he isn't as good as he has hit the past week but for the course of the year he has a 107 OPS+ despite a slow start so if he can maintain something like that or hopefully a little better along with playing adequate defense he could be a piece for the future. I know he was one of the 10 players on Law's preseason list for guys he expected to breakout so he has some cache with atleast 1 outside personality.
  8. Matty V with a BOMB! He continues to mash since he got back from the injured list!
  9. In regards to E-Rod trade value, it's kinda related but somebody asked Law in his chat yesterday if he thought the White Sox would get atleast 1 top 100 guy if they were to deal Giolito and Keith said yeah even though he is a rental he thinks they could fetch that for him. Now Giolito may have a bigger name but in reality he sucked last year and he certainly wasn't better than what E-Rod was this year so if E-Rod can come back and make a few starts and look like he did earlier this then we might be able to get a solid prospect after all.
  10. 4 star WR Imarion Stewart just committed to Michigan.
  11. I was actually worried more about the Verlander extension. He already had a ton of miles on his arm by the time we gave that to him and even though he didn't have any arm injuries up to that point history suggested that sooner or later it would happen. Also in the past 30 or so years virtually every starting pitcher that signed a big contract in their 30s ended up dropping off a cliff(non PED users), of course Verlander and Max ended up being the exceptions along with Randy Johnson.
  12. Lipcius has over 1200 plate appearances in AA and AAA along with being a 3 year college player in the SEC which is about as close to pro ball as you can get, he has had plenty of time to develop. There's always outliers but in all likelihood if he can't perform at the Major League level now he isn't going to in a year or 2.
  13. The Tigers failing to develop any real home grown talent is what put them where we've been for nearly a decade now. Yeah we can bitch about the contracts, horrible trades etc. but the bottom line is if we even developed 2 or 3 legit plus players in the 2010s things would probably look and played out alot different.
  14. Speaking of Boyd, Law did a 2013 redraft the other day and he had Boyd going 20th overall. He's put up a total of 9 WAR for his career yet he is still the 20th best player from that class, it just goes to show you how little you should count on from a first round pick, particularly a mid to later one.
  15. Not a map but since it's geography related I'll post it here, I just found out yesterday that the eastern most point of Brazil is closer to Africa than it is the western most point of the country. I'm a geography nerd and that tidbit caught me by surprise.
  16. I wonder if that is working under the assumption that Miller won't drop to them, even though its unlikely we've seen drops like that before.
  17. Yeah this season is done, I mean I'm still gonna keep rooting for wins but ultimately what matters to me most at this point is the development of the players that are going to be here in the coming years most notably of course Tork.
  18. I'd probably do it, yeah I have HUGE concerns over Zion's health but there is no doubt he is an impact player when healthy and I think considering what we are giving up it would be worth the risk.
  19. Javy with the 2 run triple to tie it up!
  20. Tigers score a run on a MIggy GIDP and C-Mo says "The Tigers will gladly trade 2 outs for a run".
  21. Some good news, Skubal looking good thus far in his rehab start down in AAA. So far through 3IP 1H 0R 0BB 5Ks.
  22. And he wastes no time picking up where he left off by homering in his first at bat.
  23. The Savior is back in the lineup!
  24. Elmn, Jack and Torii Hunter were the first that came to my mind.
